It's also for character design inspo so feel free to post things that are more out there.

I don't have anything but I remeber that one pic of the guy standing in the street with the mouthcover and the cargo pants with the shitton of pokets, anyone got that.

Bumping with shit I find on Google.

Btw just to clarify what I mean with Techwear/Riotcore:

I'm looking for outfits that are more on the bulky side and look practical. But they also have to look combat worthy, not as clinical as pure techwear. I'm talking more rough textures and Materials.

Besides >>6649577, which is valid?

Well, I'm starting to get into climbing, but cheapo athletic wear can do fine for that. Practically, it's much more about the sort of things you encounter as a human just doing stuff.

My entry into all this was travelling rough out of a single backpack during a winter. Of course, everything had to be oriented towards not smelling or looking like a bum while also not dying.

But it's also of basic use in any sort of urban living; it's almost a revelation when you have clothes designed to work with what you do instead of just rando cotton shit. I don't know the origin myth of Acronym or Undercover or anyone like that, but virtually every company making more accessible techwear is either an outdoor clothing company, or was started by a bunch of frustrated cyclists in a major city. (Outlier, Proof NYC, Mission Workshop, Chrome, etc.)

Think about it: getting around a city by bike (easily the best way) means you have to deal with inclement weather from both directions: on top of spending, say, thirty minutes before and after work sitting in the rain, and in the hot or the cold, you're generating a ton of heat and sweat. You don't want to smell like that sweat when you get to work or the party or your date. If it's cool out, you don't want it clamming up against your skin. If it's cold out, you don't want it giving you hypothermia when you stop moving. Wearing normal pants means you have to replace them much more often. Normal shirts will often bunch up if you ride forward and low, like a lot of people do.

Even if you don't cycle, accounting for all this stuff will just give you a much better time of things. You have to do laundry less. You never worry about if your notebook, phone, computer, etc. are going to get ruined in the rain. Just physically *moving* is easier. Everything becomes clearer and more direct.

That last bit is getting into a certain aesthetic satisfaction. There's a huge conceptual and tactile difference between cosplaying in cotton distressed by the hands of dead Bangladeshis and wearing something you know is designed, engineered, and manufactured with thorough care to be the real deal and actually do something. And the thing it's designed to do is help you live your life and do stuff yourself.

Plus, you look like the badass you may become if you do the right stuff, and not like some douche who decided to buy an H&M M65 knockoff.

>>6646204
Look at outdoor brands. Pic related is a pair of Patagonia pants intended for climbing, nylon-elastene, $79.

Uniqlo doesn't have many pants that are tech beyond just being poly athletic shorts, but their aesthetic is very compatible with tech. The only cargos you might see more in 'net tech fit pics than the Levis Commuters (one option for you) are the Uniqlo ones, and a lot of their stuff is produced with an elastic waistband, the directness and simplicity of which lines up with it well, I think. The only pair I own are a pair of elastic-and-built-in-nylon-belt cords, which are okay quality but have a nice cut.

If you're not concerned with *looking* tech-y, certainly in winter you can throw whatever thermals you want under whatever pants you want.

You can also always look used.

Oh, and also looking at traditional workwear companies can be useful.

Most of the stuff will be cut for a high fructose corn syrup fed typical Midwestern plumber (I forget who, but someone's ad copy explicitly noted once that their pants were cut to not show your ass crack!) and it'll largely be boring, clammy cotton, but good stuff is out there.

My first place to check would be Duluth Trading Company. AFAIK, every last pant they make comes with a gusset, and some of them have good detailing. Shorts are obviously much more adaptable, since a looser fit is more workable there.
