511 sizing (don't stuff) works well, pulls you into a heritage worker style. Need's a strong torso to fit
skinnier jeans that can be tucked also work well but pushes you somewhat in a more 'hipster' direction. A lot more relaxed than the 511s and less of a strong, masculine presence. Needs a strong torso as well, but the danger here is that it'll look really off if you don't have that torso. The 511s are a bit more versatile.
They're based on work boots though so if you don't have a large body you obviously shouldn't be buying them in the first place.

try on mediums and smalls next time you're out shopping.

I have over 10 Everlane T's and they are either hit or miss. those guys seriously need to fix their quality control issues. Some of my medium shirts are clearly larger than others.

I would recommend drop crotch elastic cuff chinos and sneakers. The drop crotch chinos would add to the silhouette and make the low hanging jacket look intentional rather then just over sized.
