Walk into fashion store, steal catalogue, walk out. Rinse & repeat every season.

Seriously though, just get a catalouge from the stores you like. They want people to look at them; more publicity and awareness. Just bought some cologne from Zegna and the employee chased me down as I was leaving to give me a catalouge. Also look at the look book or photoshoot photos released each season.

Mainstream western fashion magazines are usually shit because they are all about promoting consumers to buy into x y and z and offer little substance.

Japanese fashion magazines are the same to an extent, BUT they have a different look / trend and curate and present it in a much cooler way imo so lots of inspiration in those. You can look into more independant ones like SZ mag or Inventory.

As for books, really depends on what you want to learn more about. "Fashion Books" is an extremely broad area so hit up your local library's fashion section and find what seems interesting to you.

Right now sitting on my table are some that might be interesting for anons:

>How to read Fashion : A crash course in styles, designers, and couture
>The Language of Clothes
>Gothic : Dark Glamour
>Anglomania: Tradition and Transgression in British Fashion
>Japan Fashion Now
>Skin + Bones : Parallel practices in Fashion and Architecture
>Fashion Futures
>Art Deco Fashion
>Culture to Catwalk : How world Cultures Influence Fashion
>Costume : 1066 to Present
>Street Style
