srsly tho it depends more on proportions/fat distribution/height than size, I'd say. you can (in my opinion) go past a size 12 and still be able to dress your body well without any unavoidable fatal errors.

and like I said, proportions matter too. the curvier you are when you're fat, the easier a time you'll have working around the proportion issues. if you have actual rolls of fat when standing up then you're p. much fucked because feminine silhouettes are generally very closely cut if not body-contouring.

Man, fat acceptance, I get it and I also don't. On the one hand, fat acceptance is poor health acceptance. As a societal goal, as something we would want for our friends and loved ones, it's an unacceptable idea. But at the same time, fat shaming seems to be quite effective at alienating fat people and turning them more into losers than they might otherwise be.

Fat people are robbed of their individuality by the mindset that tells us everyone who is fat has the same set of personality defects. They're gluttons, have poor self-control, probably socially awkward, not very self-aware, not the kind of people you or I want to know. Do you want to be friends with fat people? I don't.

Because to some extent, it's self-fulfilling. What recourse does a fat kid have? Let's say he has poor diet, no exercise, an unhelpful family, and no friends, and is struggling in school. I can't be the only one who remembers the fat kid that didn't want to participate in gym class because he would get made fun of. Is that "helping"? Is fat shaming really "encouragement" or does it do nothing more than turn them into awkward losers?

Obesity is a nasty problem. It needs to be dealt with. But I'm not sure that making fun of fat people is the answer to that problem. I don't think accepting obesity is, either. I don't want poor health to be north america's future. I don't want my kids to be fat. I'll never agree with fat acceptance. But I can't get behind threads like this, either.
