I've owned those exact jeans for a few months now and I can answer your questions.

I'm a waist size 30, sized down to 28 because of the spandex.

Went 4 months before first wash, made no difference. I guess the coating prevents fading to some degree, which is fine by me because I like my black jeans to stay as deep black as possible.

The coating is only faintly apparent. They are mildly shiny but its not a coating you can literally "feel" I suppose.

Probably my favorite pair of jeans because of the good stacking they have.

There's some padding and a few air bladder that will need to be removed, and I want to attach some kind of velcro loop that I can use to "holster" the air tube horizontally along the lower back.
