How young is too young to pull this off?
I work in an office and am thinking about getting something like this for winter.

The only problem is that I'm in my early twenties and I'm worried about looking euphoric.
Should I just get a shorter one?
Thoughts?

If you're tall slim and handsome go for it.

Pretty much this. An old, ugly fat guy would look bad in it too. It's just that his peers wouldn't pay so much attention to his appearance.

>> No.6621976

long coats are one of the best examples of "fit is king." you need the proportions for it. if you are shorter and wider (not necessarily fat, if you are athletic too) you will look a lot better in a boxier jacket

Early twenties? Don't wear it man, people of my age don't wear dadcore -stuff like that. I wouldn't pull that off even at mid-20s, it's that dadcore.

How long have you been here? If you are tall and handsome you can do anything, if you are anything else /fa/ isn't the place for you.

>> No.6622870

>>6621866
as long as it fits then you'll look fine imo
if it's boxy or too large then it would look like you're wearing your dad's coat

>>6621982
if he's in an office wearing a suit then an overcoat would look fine. it's not necessarily your age, it's the situation that dictates what you should wear.

Exactly, I see a lot of people here saying that younger people shouldn't wear suits, but not all of us have jobs where we can dress gothninja

Since we are one the discussion of coats, what does /fa/ think of top coats? I feel like younger guys can wear them because they are slimmer/shorter in most cases than overcoats.

>> No.6623121

>>6621866
OP, an overcoat is not a bad general idea but don't get one like that -- it's too boxy and it's too long. Get something much slimmer, maybe with a little bit of shape, that stops above the knee.

Duffels are dated as fuck. We're talking about a peak circa 2010-2011, when everyone aped the styling in those terrible fucking J.Crew catalogs.

You look euphoric if you're wearing it with a t-shirt.

It works if you're wearing it with a suit

OP, if your wearing a suit, and the weather calls for an over coat , then by all means, go for it. remember that other rules still apply. if you wore the pic related to work tomorrow, it would look funny because its fucking august, and sunny as balls.

It's a new phrase based on that photo that keeps going around of the atheist kid quoting himself, wearing a fedora and other MFA clothing saying "in this moment I am euphoric, because of my enlightenment blah blah blah"

so now euphoric is slang for being a fedoracore neckbeard
