I was thinking of trying Forming Cream, (Because the texture of their Molding clay is gross) because it should provide the best balance, but I dunno.

Forming Creme isn't much better, tbd. It's not a madd medium, it's a lot more liquid than Fiber. I've tried Fiber in damp hair then finishing with forming in dry, and the opposite, and neither way is perfect.

I use their "Messy Look" paste and it's not terrible. Good strong hold as long as it doesn't get soaking wet and pretty cheap; an $8 container lasts me a month and a half. Is there better stuff? Certainly, but if you're on a budget or in a small town (which I am until I head to school in a few weeks) it's pretty good.

d:fi pliable molding cream - Very thin, not really something to style with as it just kind of keeps your shit together.
Goldwell something or other - This shit feels weird, yo. It doesn't really hold up all day for me, after a few hours it feels like I'm just using d:fi only my hair isn't as soft.
Bedhead manipulator - Bedhead is lame as fuck but this product is pretty good, basically my go to product. Styles well, does what I want it to.
Paul Mitchell Clean Cut - This is something I'd use more if I had the OP's picture, it holds very very well, but my current hair style doesn't require that much strength.

I have VERY similarly textured hair. I've fucked around with it a lot, but what I'm doing now is rinsing daily, and every 4 days I'll put olive oil in my hair (really soak it) and let it sit there under a shower cap while I browse the web or whatever, and then I wash it out with shampoo and ONLY shampoo. No conditioner.

I might start doing this daily, but for now doing it every 4 days fits best with my gym schedule.
