thanks for the wise words. the main reason i'm on here is because i just got accepted to the best university in canada. while walking around the campus i couldn't help but notice that most people there had style and dressed nicely, while i dressed like a high school idiot.

Dark indigo jeans
Black jeans
Black, grey and white t shirts
A charcoal hoodie
A black jacket or parka. Look at varsity, bomber, or Harrington styles for a jacket and look at I love ugly for a parka
A pair of all white sneakers, look at Nike air force 1 lows
A pair of black boots, look at Dr. Martens 1460
You can throw in some darker muted colors in there like burgundy, olive, navy, and greens. The most important thing you can do is make sure it all fits very well, so get slim fit shirts and jackets and tapered slim or skinny jeans.

thanks for the advice. i never have trouble with women and currently have a good looking girlfriend, but that could be due to personality and not looks.

i love everything you suggested except the boots. i don't think i could ever come around to wearing boots, they are so impractical to the point i just think it is silly to wear them just for looks.

what stores would you recommend purchasing the shirts at? like i said i mostly buy shirts at old navy but they don't fit very well as i am tall and skinny.

I only suggested the boots for cold weather. I love my docs when It's cold. It depends on your budget. Low budget, I like the mossimo t shirts from target, high budget, acne t shirts. Levis 510's are fine, but you could also check pacsun, their skinny jeans tend to be tighter. It was definitely a bad picture at first, you aren't bad at all, I would suggest a better haircut though.
