Same way as dreads so some type of wax I would assume. You can get short twists using a sponge with little holes cut into it but once your hair starts to get too long that won't cut it anymore and they won't hold very well.

I have the same problem with wavy hair. I usually trim down the sides and use some Garnier Sleek and Shine for the top. It'll still be wavy, but it's more controlled and easier to style with that way.

Right out of shower towel dry, then comb and blow dry at the same time. Start with the hair dryer on hot and as soon as you get to the shape you want use the cool setting so the air is cold, it will lock the hair follicles in place better as it continues to dry.

Also depending on if you have curly/wavy hair you may need to curl the ends of your hairs back with a curling iron, but the blow drying should be sufficient as is, and depending on how short it is you may need some hair spray.

I'm going to get my hair cut tomorrow. I'm trying to grow it out, but my hair is very thick. When I was young I tried to grow my hair long but instead got a "jewfro" except not very curly mostly just thick and wavy. I'm thinking that my hair is simply too thick to grow out, so I wanted to get a haircut with thinning shears to thin it out.
What should I expect if I've always had thick hair?
How should I style this thinner hair, will I look really different or what?
What, if any, creams or vitamins or supplements should I use to grow my hair longer?
