What's everyone's opinion on appropriate footwear?
I know black leather boots work, especially ones with flat black rubber soles. I think the sole is really where the line is crossed between military utility and urban tech utility.
I'm not saying more classic boot soles are barred from tech outfits, but they do shift the entire look, sometimes throwing it off balance where the outfit seems border tech looking more like a modern gothic military than light weight agile comfortable and urban by wearing a sole that is built less for comfort and more for durability. is it just safe to say tech can branch into both urban and feral environments?
here is my idea of a perfect tech boot. (urban)

do t hold you're breath, here's some more lengthily opinionated mfa-tier rambling.
here's a piece from Nike I can't believe no one shines any light on, anywhere. they're also incredibly cheap. they move away from minimalism and light, possibly over designed and a bit ostentatious with the gold swoosh, but not completely tasteless. these shoes remind me of tanks, weight, power. if that can be manifested in the rest of the outfit it'd achieve a pretty unique look. I can't see it happening but its worth a mention.

You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

Tell that to every sportswear or outdoor company ever.

Tech, to an extent, is cheap. Want a t-shirt to be tech? Raglan construction, flatlock stitching, poly or poly-blend, and if you want, you're done. You have everybody's cheap running shirt.

Want a pair of technical pants? Any outdoor or military brand will sell you a pair of ripstop pants in their flavor for under $50.

You can do that well or poorly, you can improve on it a huge number of ways, but it's tech and it's cheap.

I own a pair, they fit true to size. They roll up to mid-calf but the fabric is fairly thick. They have a reflective strip which is exposed when you roll up, nice touch. The material collects dust pretty easily and doesn't stay pure black for long. Haven't washed em yet. They stretch a bit and work well for cycling around town. Haven't tested them in the rain yet. Overall I give them a 7/10 for functionality.

Yeah exactly. If you're just going for cycling specific, you might be better off saving up (USD $200ish) for Rapha or Outlier. If you are going for the style, you're better off saving for Isaora, Acronym, Julius, etc.

I'm on my way for losing weight, and well the commuter's were affordable at the time.

Why not, especially in winter? Especially with the rapidly diminishing possibilities for anonymity in Western society. You're posting in our little refugee camp now, aren't you? Where's your legal name with a trip code?

Also, you see yuppies wearing ski face guards on some days.
