/fit/ has its fair share of shit, but it is the only board where you will see murals of before and afters of folk who have lost weight, gained muscles, and attained a better physique than 99% of the population. It is the only board where a fair portion of its posters are actually sexually attractive,even if they are still marred with social problems

The key difference being that the discipline gained from slaving away at weights, diet, sleep, etc, all tend to have a positive effect on your mental well being. When you look at the mirror and see your chiseled adonis belt, abs, shoulders, biceps, jawline, etc, it inflates your confidence. You no longer feel like shit 24/7 now that you eat healthy. You perform better at almost every activity . Girls and guys take notice at your good posture and physique.

And as far as improving your interactions with others, getting in shape is a fantastic start. How can you expect people to like you if you don't like yourself?

That's a good point that /fit actually produces something, but I'd argue that's about 1/1000 of the browsers. Thing is, the board culture is absolute shit from what I've been there. It's nothing else than crying about social problems and lifting to help to get a girl.
