Hello there,

Would you amazing and /fa/shionable people mind helping me out a bit? I'm trying to create some cute accessories to sell in my spare time. The theme is steam punk.

Here's a picture of a pair of earrings I made

Judging by your earings, you're not doing 'themes' you're doing objects. Themes being like having a subtle space or futuristic ideas attached on to the overlying structure of clothing, like rick's latest set. Objects being more like things directly pulled out, like glass vials and tubes from a steampunk setting. You're not dealing with something that /fa/ deals with because fashion is more about subtly evoking ideas. This is more in like cosplay territory, trying to recreate a very specific idea.
Of course this is for clothing. A fashionable film set would have no issue using glass tubes and such to blatantly show off a steampunk setting, but real life is not pre-rendered idea and doesn't get to be so obvious about what its doing without looking like a fag

Any sort of advice would be appreciated. I've also made some pins and a mecha mouse keychain. Here's a pic of the keychain

gluing gears together isn't even remotely effay.

Thanks for the advice. I didn't rightfully know where to go. Thought maybe I could find some
help here.

Can I ask the third person how I could make that kind of thing a bit more subtle?

I don't glue them. I wrap them together with wire and smelt them together.

By not doing this. I hate to actually help because you're just a kid and obviously don't understand that you have some growing up to do and that there's room to develop your taste, but if you DO want to look at designers who would generously be considered having some relation to "steampunk", you can look at stuff like A.F. Vandevorst and even certain McQueen collections to see how design can be a little more subtle and sophisticated than what you're doing here.

Darling, I hate to break it to you, but you basically admitted that you aren't actually designing anything; you're just putting random objects (that you didn't even make) together and then calling it a day.
