What's up with high-waisted pants/shorts?

>What kind of people are they for?
>When should you wear them?
>Do they look good?
>What do you wear with them?
>inspiration, etc.

Personally I think they look retarded as fuck but a lot of people have said I should consider buying a couple of pairs. Also a lot of the guys I know always say girls that wear them look "classy," "cute," "attractive," etc. despite how fucking chunky and fug these girls are.

Should I buy some of this shit?

Are you really super skinny with disproportionately long legs for your height?

If so then yes.

>What kind of people are they for?

Generally folks who need to lengthen the line of their leg. It draws the waistline higher, elongates the leg, and tends to also create a stronger impression of a curve through the hip.

>When should you wear them?

When you want a really comfortable fit that you won't have to constantly pull up. Also, for when you're trying to wear things like crop tops or even slouch tops that benefit from having a narrow, defined waistline.

>Do they look good?

That depends. It's a function of how high a waist and how it fits on you. Also, it depends on what the rest of the silhouette is.

>What do you wear with them?

High-waisted jeans do make tucking in easier since you've got more of a rise to keep in any fabric. As I mentioned, cropped or shrunken silhouettes typically benefit as well since the high waist and floating/cropped hem of the top will exaggerate how nipped and narrow the waist appears.

>inspiration, etc.

I think

As a gentleman quite partial to the female buttocks - I strongly recommend if yours is nice

Though that is worse with a higher waist, that's more a function of cut and fit that isn't unique to higher-waisted styles.

Aren't they more for SHORT-legged people, though? To give the illusion their legs are longer?

I actually think it benefits short people by elongating the silhouette. It all depends on what you pair it with.
I mainly wear high-waisted cuts because if not I'd look shapeless and lanky.

the only girls I've seen wear them and look good in them were pretty slender and had a decent amount of difference between their hips and their waist.

this
I feel like maybe they are meant for short people to elongate the leg silhouette but in reality the only people that I've seen pull them off are tall slender girls aka model types

I'd date the two on the left just for their legs. The one on the right can go away.

>> No.6401429

I generally don't like high-waisted denim shorts on women because they usually end up looking like they're wearing giant denim diapers. But maybe this is because I always see them on short, wide girls; I understand that they are supposed to help people with these figures, but IMO, I just don't see it working. It may be the case that they only work for people who already have a nice figure.

As for pants, I can't say much. I suppose they look alright, sort of "retro".

Judging by:

You have a nice waist but that certainly doesn't appear to be the most flattering shot of your rear so I'll refrain from saying something mean.

you'd date the one on the left? such a clear case of but-her-face. Now the one in the middle, if you just cleaned her up and threw away those god awful shoes. She's got a decent body and a half-decent face.

They look decent. They show off more leg without looking hookercore

Does anyone know where to cop the jacket on the left?
