i used to think they look stupid and oversized but after seeing a guy on the street with them and watching rick interviews/runways i started liking them a lot and will cop a pair soon

I think very few people can pull them off with the right outfit. Personally i'm kinda bored of them/feel outdated. Need to wait for the fresh kicks.

I don't own a pair (yet), but I like Rick footwear mostly because it's aggressive and architectural, but it's still rooted in sporty, casual looks so I can wear it with a lot of stuff. Why don't you like it? You haven't actually mentioned any reasons.

Indeed. I've seen great fits ruined by those awful shoes. They aren't really exceptional in any regard, and they are too gaudy to be ignored. Some less flashy ones are alright but are easily outdone by some generic high-tops for a fraction of the price.

The point of them is:
A they're kind of a middle point between the severity of boots and the comfort/ease of sneaker. Their silhoutte leans towards boot while wearability is like a sneaker
and B they're a statement that you can blow 1000$ on a pair of shoes that last you 6 months

I always liked the look of the solid white ones, especially when they get really worn in. I don't feel like I have the wardrobe for them, though. They're a little too bold.
