It's possible to have /fa/ shoes without them being dadcore. Lightweight leather boots are one of your best bets. Pic related. Say what you want about Converse, I have these in brown and they're the best quality you're going to get for what you're paying. They're understated but still pretty good looking, not too clumpy etc. Also leather boots tend to have a fairly thick sole which is always nice for a shorter guy such as yourself (and myself, 5'8 here). Alternatively, boat shoes are pretty good entry level /fa/ shoes.
