Don't do this. It's almost never /fa/, unless the tag clears ~$100k or so, and then it's 50/50 /fa/ and fuccbois who think a Lambo counts towards their small supply of personhood.

Take the car you posted. It's not *bad*, but it has literally no special interest or appeal. Oh, sure, it's the only hybrid sportscar on the market besides the Fiskar Karma, but so what? It's a hopelessly muddlehead, overly focus-group-driven-compromised, pathetically and uninterestingly mid-luxe ripoff of the CR-X, a genuinely awesome car that gets about 15mpg more, probably throws better, is decidedly and pleasantly un-shiny and anti-luxe, and costs $1500.

Also compare: vintage/new Beetle, Fiat 500, less so Minis but still. Also: E30 M3 versus does anyone give a fuck what BMW calls the current bloated thing? Land Verbers, all types. A 240 versus any Volvo made past '95 or something. An NA Miata versus the current goofy thing.

It's not like people don't make great cars these days. It's that no one does perfect or special all the time; it's not a manageable thing for anyone except maybe crazy little car ateliers that either are all custom or make two models that update on twenty year cycles. If I was hellbent on a new, lowish price sports car, I'd cop a Subaru BR-Z/Scion TR-S. That's a special thing.

Also, don't go into debt to buy a car, unless you're, like, a racing driver or something. Unless it's to fund a deeply dreamed accomplishment or leveraged to hell, debt almost always makes a person less interesting and thus less /fa/.

Honestly, hondas are awesome in terms of economics. I bought a used civic hybrid for about 10k, drove it for a year or two getting 45mpg. Then some somali dude crashed into me and totaled it. Insurance gave me about 13k, maybe it is a good insurance policy? Buy anyways, never had any issues with repairs either unlike the bmw.
