I am a gross yuppie who skates to work and destroys all his clothes and shoes. How to be /fa/ if my clothes all get torn up? Pic is what I did to my most recent pair of raw denim... guess I'll try to patch it soon.

Note: I am not the guy with the hideous animal print vans from the other thead. I'm fairly sure he's just a troll, please ignore his gross posts.

how does that make you a yuppie

that specifically doesn't make me a yuppie, the fact that I am a young professional living and working an urban setting makes me a yuppie. AKA I work downtown San Francisco, where everyone else dresses nice, but I stick out because I tear up any blazers / pants as part of my commute and exercise regimen. I've tried carrying a change of clothes in a backpack, but I already have more than enough to carry. There's no way for me to drive or take the bus, and I'd prefer to stick to skating anyways because it is good exercise and mental discipline.

lol

clearly a thread because he has a boner over some denim evo

I'm sad about my holes / "denim evo" it looks really weird when you can see my boxers underneath. Maybe I just need more /fa/ underwear but I've never looked into anything past the cheapest boxers that feel like you aren't wearing much.

I've tried biking, I don't like it as much as skating though. Skating I have to be more in tune with my balance and routes and flow with the streets, biking is easy and mechanical you just point in the direction you want to go and pull the breaks if you're going down a steep hill. That's what i meant by the mental discipline thing, I'm not sure you'd understand what I mean without psychedelic drug experience.

>>6259892
I've been assuming ripped jeans make me look more homeless. Then again, one of my favorite games to play in SF is "homeless or fashionista?" so maybe that's not the worst in the world. I guess I'll try to find some not ridiculously colored underwear and see how it works. All my boxers are low rise so I've never cared what they looked like until I noticed how often they peek through my pants.

I do have experience and I still don't know what you're talking about

omfg ego ball too hard. in all seriousness that's the most disgustingly pretentious thing I've seen in a while, fuck you.

Haha maybe I'm just an idiot then. When I skate I focus my mind totally on the experience. I have to keep my mind on a balance point or I'll bail really hard. Something about doing that lets me forget about anything else, ignore the stresses and other things in my life and just appreciate the moment. Then as I pass through the city I forget myself and appreciate the city and everyone in it for the macrocosm and microcosm it is, nothing more and nothing less. Maybe that makes more sense? It's a meditative thing and I find it really gives me positive vibes afterwards. Before tripping I didn't really feel this way about skateboarding, but now I can get some of the positive trip effects completely drug free.

You can get raw denim in small squares from N&F and a repair kit from Nudies.

Send them an email saying that your favourite pair of N&F Skinny Guys Deep Indigos/Nudies Grim Tims/etc. (make sure you're specific. It doesn't even matter if you don't wear their jeans, just pick a pair of jeans that match the color of your jeans that need to be patched up) that you've been wearing for 8 months have developed a hole, and that you'd like a bit of denim to patch it up. They should reply within a day or two asking for your shipping address, and that's when you give them your address, etc. Don't forget to say be polite and say Thank You.

From N&F I got two big patches of denim, both about 12"x12".

Nudies gave me a Nudies repair kit in a tin can with a needle, some string, about 3"x4" of denim, and some sandpaper lol. They also included a Nudies tote bag and a full grain leather lanyard that I've been using everyday for about a year for my keys.

Though I wouldn't both using raw denim since it's obviously going to stress it out, etc. and break within a few months. I'd just take my jeans to a tailor and get it repaired there. I had a terrible hole from my wallet repaired 1.5 years ago. I brought the N&F fabric with me, and the guy told me that it would break again. He ended up using his own fabric and even though it's not raw denim, it still faded.

Maybe I'm just not over my ego then. I needed a little catalyst to get into any mindful practice, now that I've gotten over the hump I recognize it's an internal thing and don't need any drugs. So I myself wouldn't have understood myself any mindfulness stuff before I dabbled in psychonetics.

But this really isn't the point of the thread I'm specifically looking for a jacket / shoes that can stand up to some serious abuse and still look okay.... any ideas?

Quality advice. I will take them to the korean lady that tailors my shirts on the cheap and ask her for help. Was it expensive? Its one thing to fix a wallet hole after 12 months, its another for me to cause significant damage every 2-3 months...
