i'm looking for a pair of brown boots so i don't have to wear out my red wings wearing them every day. i like how some of quoddy and yuketen's moc toe boots look as far as aesthetics go, but i'm not sure how i'd incorporate them into a fit. are they too bizarre to just wear with a button-down and slim-cut jeans? should i work my fit around the maine'y woodsman look or does it not matter?

if anyone has any pictures of fits incorporating moc-toe's i'd appreciate it if you would share.

Price is ok, the store is listed in the sticky, and overall they look straightforward, not too formal (i.e. what I'm looking for). The only thing that's keeping me is the black heel: a brown one, with a black shoe, looks a bit more casual than one whole-coloured.

Linen is going to be your friend. It is light and breathable enough to wear in the heat.

Spend money on some nice European sunglasses if you want to look classy, e.g. Persol. You can get these on eBay for half price sometimes.

Get some linen slacks and iron them daily. They don't have to be expensive. Spend an extra 80 pesos to have them tailored. Have a linen shirt darted to fit you trim that should only be 50 pesos.

Because Mexican fashion is seriously way too garish and I associate it with rich, obnoxious chacas cruising around town in a big-ass truck blasting their narcocorridos at top volume and drinking Buchanan's in a banda club full of narcojuniors. That's fucking not my style. And the "American" style we know here is actually South California style, which I don't like either because I don't feel my personality really matches that.

I feel like my personality means an European look is way more fitting, and when I was in France I loved how these eurofags could dress in a way that was classy and at the same time casual.

Mainstream backpacks are usually waxed to keep the contents relatively dry and to keep their shape (e.g: in the rain). Because wax prevents the fabric from properly getting saturated, your dye job will turn out splotchy in the best case. Any dip-dyed backpacks you see on the market will have been dyed BEFORE waxing or even before construction of the backpack had begun (using dyed fabric).

There are, of course, exceptions. But if you understand fabrics you should be fine.

Is it ever ok to cuff the sleeves of a blazer?

I bought a jacket off of uniqlo that I really dig but the sleeves are too long unless I cuff them. It was on sale for like $30 so I don't think it's worth tailoring. My mom told me that since there's a little bit of decorative detailing in the interior of the sleeve that it's probably OK to do it but she tells me a lot of things. "Boyfriend Blazers" are super popular now too, but those tend to have more flamboyant interiors with stripes and shit.

The thing is, I actually really like how it looks cuffed. And women's fashion is definitely more flexible than men's when it comes to weird details like that, but I still don't want to look like a dumb bitch who bought a jacket that was too big when I go to job interviews and shit.

Cuffing blazers is an 80's look for men. Cuffed blazers for women is acceptable although maybe not for an interview. Tailoring the blazer may not be too expensive, it depends on if the cuffs are functional or have stitching for button holes. If they don't then it is very simple and shouldn't cost very much. If not, then it can still be shortened a little without being disproportional.

they do have buttons, I already looked into it and it's a little too expensive for me. I'm broke as hell until I get myself a grown up job so I'm really hoping to do as little tailoring as possible, especially since I'm pretty small and I can see this being a problem in the future.

I was also wondering something else, since I'm getting into sewing. It's sure as hell not something I'd try now because I'd fuck it up for sure, but would it be possible to just cut down the sleeve a bit and move the buttons farther down as well? It doesn't seem totally unreasonable, and if I found myself capable of doing it in the future and I still had this jacket I probably would.

I'm glad to know it's acceptable, at least. The jacket has an unusual, somewhat masculine cut that I don't imagine I'm going to find again as cheap as it was and I'd be sad to just let it sit around in my closet.

What I had in my mind was that if I cut it at just the right spot I would be able to move the top two buttons down and just have the holes sewn onto the interior, but I looked at it again and there's really not enough space between them for that to be possible.

Oh well. I'll make do with this one for now and keep my eye out for something else that I like and hopefully have the cash for it.

My skin, while I don't have much acne, gets red and, well, bad looking very easily. While I have being trying to fix it for years, I can't seem to escape it. Heading to a dermatologist soon.

My hair is almost the same colour as on this picture. I've been thinking about dyeing my hair darker, as I like dark hair.

My question is: should I? Would it look better with my reddish skin? Can anyone recommend any dye products?

I need some basic sneakers for summer to be worn with jeans and chinos (obviously). I'm thinking that low tops are more summery, is that right? Most hi tops I see seem kind of heavy for a summer shoe.

I'm thinking something like Vans Eras, any other suggestions?

Also does anyone have any general clothes advice for festivals? I'm going to All Tomorrow's Parties this summer and it'll be my first festival trip.
