How long do the ~$15 Sunglasses on eBay last for? A month? There are loads of these cheap "wayfarer" ones which I think look pretty cool, Some ranging from $4-$12, I'm just wondering if their a piece of chinese shit and will break or not.

Also are they fa?

>> No.6172136

I can't see them being any noticeably shittier/better than those $10 vans sunglasses

>fa
no
>will they break?
yes

theyll also fuck up your eyes. and they make all colours look like shit, while real polarised glasses will make everything look awesome.
so either buy this shit from ebay and hope it lasts the summer, or spend 150 on a pair of warby parkers or raybans and be settled for the next 5 years or even longer.

When wearing sunglasses the pupils dilate, letring more UV rays in. That's why it's important to use real sunglasses, not $10 shit

ah makes perfect sense. I am not a sunglasses type of guy, I'd rather rock a bucket hat

also cheap sunglasses make you look mad tool/faux-cool, like you're a wannabe Lou Reed or something.

So I actually purchased a pair of polarized wayfarers from ebay recently and I'll describe my experience. Unfortunately, I just lost them yesterday.
>pic related so you know I'm not just talking out of my ass
>They were in fact polarized. You can tell by hold them to any active lcd screen and rotating them. If polarized, the lens' vision will completely blackout.
>Testing UV is a bit harder. The video above uses a spectrophotometer. I used some GID material around the house, placed the sunglasses over it, and exposed the covered material to light. Not a perfect experiment but it did not seem to glow in the covered areas. Good enough for me.
>The hinges were not metal hinges, at least not wholly. They were spring-loaded. The half of the hinge sticking out from the end pieces was plastic and the other half from the temples was metal of some sort. The spring was housed in the temple. Hard to explain without pics.

forgot pic

Personally, I prefer all metal, non-spring-loaded hinges. More durable and less of a pain in the ass to fix if the screw falls out, which did end up happening to my pair. With spring-loaded hinges, you have to overcome the spring to replace the screw and it's just a hastle.

The other thing you want to check for when buying sunglasses in person is the uniformity of the lens. If the lens is misshapen, it can warp your vision and that's not good. Hold the sunglasses at arm's length and locate a straight line in the distance. Look through the lenses at the straight line, move the sunglasses back and forth across the straight line to ensure that the straight line stays straight through the vision of the lenses. If there is some warping, that's probably not the best pair for your eyes.

As a final note, the vision on my pair was really clear. They did look sort of shitty because the spots on the tortoiseshell design were placed too regularly. Also, the silver inlay thing on the right side fell out. But they were good sunglasses.

listen here faggots, knockoff sunglasses are just as, if not more, pathetic as buying ioffer ricky dickys

save up a few hundred and get yourself a good pair of sunglasses.

*limit one(1) pair of ray bans per customer per life

shut the fuck up faggot, who the hell cares if you buy a pair of sunglasses that actually look good just to have fun.

Theres also no risk, whereas you save up to blow $150 on "Designer" ebay shit you just lose them, break them, get bored with them or all of the above. NOW GET THE HELL OF MY /FA/

do all of you faggots step on your glasses and crush them?
are you all that fucking retarded and clumsy?

i was at some music festival once when i had forgotten to bring my good sunglasses
so i bought a cheap pair of black glasses kinda like pic related for like 5 bucks, just for the day.
but i ended up keeping them just for backup in my car and they have lasted for 6 years

so i have no idea how you people can just tear them up so easily
