I just bought a navy blue odd jacket thinking that it'd be pretty easy to get a dark brown or mid gray pair of slim fit pants to match it for <$100. At first I was going to ask you guys which color to get, but I just put some brown pants + navy jacket together in the template and I realized that it looks pretty shitty.

Anyway, I have a light grey pair of pants that my friend's mom gave me (I need to sew them down, tho, they're looking pretty baggy) but I'm under the impression that the lighter a pair of pants is, the more casual they are. Are there any colors that will work with a navy blazer besides gray that are appropriate for job interviews and stuff?

I can usually dress myself pretty well but with business casual and formal I fall flat on my face because I've never had to bother with it before. I'm trying to put together a very small wardrobe for such occasions in the hopes that maybe one day I'll have a grown up job instead of my shitty minimum wage job and I'll be able to afford more than one pair of pants.

I MIGHT try black if the navy is a light enough color. It hasn't come in the mail yet so I can't be sure.
