>> No.6160346

It is a bit annoying with new customers, you have no idea of this persons tastes or previous hair cuts.

But you usually have to make do with playing it safe with a common hair cut that'll suit their face shape.

It's all about the barber. I'm in the UK and 60% of barbers have no qualification or any advanced skill or understanding of a good haircut. Just find a good barber, they usually charge more if they're good.

I think because your hair is so thick, you should go for a skin fade into a crew cut. But ofc I don't know what you look like so you might not pull it off.

>>6160395

>Thickness
Ask for your hair to be thinned

>Dryness
Coconut is the best natural ingredient to moisture the hair and scalp.

Just wash every day. 2 Shampoos. 1 Condition. Condition every other day minimum.

You do not have true dandruff unless it's sore, yellow flakes and inflamed. Otherwise you just have a dry scalp.

You can treat your hair with coconut oil twice a week. It leaves it incredibly soft and manageable.

My previous haircut six or seven months ago left me with shorter hair on the sides, so its currently longer in the back and front than on the sides. Its not really noticeable, because I always tuck everything behind my ears or bun it, but I assume I will have to even it out at some point?

if the guy has reaaaally oily hair, sulfate-free formulas might not work for him.

that being said, his hair is probably reaallly oily to begin with, because he shampoos to often, and with harsh chemicals. a year ago I had to shampoo every day because my second-day hair was nasty. now I shampoo 2x a week, and my hair is fine even on the 3-4th day.

I tried some organic/natural shampoo, but it didn't work with my 2x/week shampooing routine. so I just use basic sulfate or sulfate-free shampoos now. might not be great for my scalp, but I figure 2x/week is a hell of a lot better than 7x/week

While this thread is on the topic of long-haired men, what general recommendations can you provide on the topic? Which facial structures are best and worst-suited to past-the-ear or past-the-jaw styles? To what degree should longer hair be layered or thinned, based on its texture? What is an appropriate length:fringe:bangs ratio? Side part, near-centre part, partless, or swept back? Pomade, fibre, gel, or a light oil?

I have a strong jaw and overall good bone structure, but a large forehead. I've tried to cover it with a fringe, but I don't get on with it at all and find it looks much better with my hair off my forehead.

Is a large forehead detrimental enough to my overall look to require me to hide it with my hair? Or should I wear it with pride? Not gonna post a pic, just imagine a guy with a big forehead. I've noticed lots of models like >>6160452

not barberfag, but I just use a regular clarifying shampoo; either SLS or SLS-free. I don't do no-poo, but I only shampoo ~2x a week.

the organic shit with no solvents whatsoever, won't do a good job cleaning your scalp. I feel like if you're not going to wash your hair often, you should wash it with something that works.
