Lets talk about regional fashion trends; shall we? Do you find your city, state, country or whatever to have some unique fashion rules?

I live in hawaii now and noticed that hawaiin or aloha shirts are totally the norm in almost all white collar places. Suits and ties are almost non existent. Well I like wearing a suit, so I got a white one that I can wear with any bright dress shirt and no tie, and it looks very appropriate to the climate; but even still, whenever I wear it, people ask me if I'm a lawyer, since they are the only ones here who wear suits.

What weird things are going on where you live?

I live in Michigan where it's hella cold; I'm not sure we have any really eccentric regional trends, but since it's usually uncomfortably cold for 8 months out of the year, kids at my uni get RIDICULOUSLY excited when it hits around 45-50 degrees fahrenheit for the first time after winter and just immediately pull out their summer wardrobe. they get out their flip flops and tees, girls pull out their booty shorts and gladiator sandals.

i live in chicago. dadcore is super big. the "trendy" art school kiddies dress in dirty thrift store clothes they never even bothered to wash after they bought them from salvation army.

summer still hasn't kicked in yet, so I don't know what the new trends are going to be. i really really hope the girls are going to ditch the maxidresses that were so popular last year. dont these girls know summer is the season to show some skinxxx, at least the mom-jean fad has faded already.

i am gonna be rockin the americana farm boy look this summer

I live in St Augustine, and there are two flows to the local fashion, local and tourist.

girls do this thing where they'll wear things like short shorts in the winter but put it over like knit/thermal leggings and idk whether to hate it or not because it seems comfortable AF

washed out denim (oversized button ups/jackets) seems to be a spring thing here. also a lot of people here wear double denim and it's horrific.

other than that i mean we -do- have the most H&Ms of any country in the world so whatever goes on sale there you see everyone wearing the next week. the fast fashion fever is sooooo bad here

People wear expensive Nikes or Jordans.
With sweatpants usually Champion or a store like Abercrombie,American Eagle, and Hollister etc.
Most Tee's are those Nike Text shirts or some store like Aeropostale.
And a lot of people wear big American Eagle Cargo Shorts.
And the people not wearing Foamposites and the works wear ugly Nike Trainers.
Oh, and Black Hypebeast are starting to wear Bbc and NB's.

out of all these cities (i've been to all minus stockholm and london) i feel like berlin is the most approachable to live in. it really is a center for young people at the moment and extremely modern. i heard it's not (relatively for europe) too expensive and the scene in general is really eclectic and cutting edge.

vienna is also a really beautiful city, and paris is self explanatory but i don't think i could ever manage it

Berlin people are the most annoying. And especially those who want to move there. It's maybe nice to have lot's of young people around, but their attitude is the worst. Everyone's so artsy, pseudo-productive (internet-startups and shit), and "cutting edge".
I can't believe someone uses this phrase.
All they do is litter the streets with their presence. Way too pretentous to be taken seriously.
