i need a leather jacket thats casual everyday use when riding my bike, something light weight like for autumn weather, not winter

also im looking for casual leather boots with a zipper so its easy to take on and off, that i can use for riding, so it has to be leather with no steel toe

Here's the classic Schott Cafe Racer, its made in heavy steerhide, and it's cut in a slim fit.

It's perfect for autumn and early spring. When I'm not riding in the winter, I just wear it casually.

As for boots, I'd recommend IRs (although they aren't zippered).

Influence what you buy. Buy any leather you think looks good.

If you want something less traditional looking then look at brand like Julius or maybe even past collaborations for an even quirkier look.

>> No.6138348

>>6138319
No, you have the wrong attitude. For instance:
>wearing desert boots
>not in the desert

>wearing jeans
>not owning a claim to a mine

>wearing peacoat
>not being in the navy

These are bullshit arguments ^^^. We've always found a way to repurpose articles of clothing. For instance, field jackets were meant for the military, but now we've repurposed them to be worn around town.

So stop being a pussy and look into buying a good leather jacket.

NOTE: Don't buy the padded kevlar moto jackets, those would not be acceptable for casual wear. Just get the regular old leather jacket.

>>6138348
every garment has a cultural context, and most people would assume if you were wearing a biker jacket that you own a bike

jeans today have a strong association with the casual american wardrobe, unlike when they came out

so the question is does the OP jacket scream "i ride" or not
if not i'm tempted to cop

Cafe racers are the most unassuming leather jackets. People don't associate them with riding nearly as much as they do with Perfecto-style ones.

Fashiony designer leathers like from Julius and Rick and whatnot carry the association even less with their non-traditional designs.

ToJs rarely fit right, honestly. That dude bought it from a sample sale so it wasn't even made for him, but it's still miles better than most other people. And for every dude that measures wrong and his ToJ doesn't fit, another dude buys it from him second-hand producing another ill fit.

If you're going for a stock size you might as well just buy one from someone looking to sell. MDR, especially if it's black, and especially if it's lamb will probably be one of the easiest to find in your size.

exactly so you get a stock size, 44, 46, 48, etc.

>> No.6138815

>>6138784
Getting it tailored would make it just as hard to sell as if you'd gotten it MTM to measure in the first place (not to mention MTM will be a much better garment than a stock size tailored, especially with leather), stock sizes are easier to sell because they loosely follow the same basic proportional format as a lot of other stock size clothing so other people looking for a lower risk will want them.
