not humid, in LA, after a long day socks are a bit damp yeah, but its really not bad, its pretty arid climate, and hottest around 90-95

I live in fucking Phoenix and still wear my Red Wings and Wolverines in the summer. I'm going to be hot no matter what, and the boots aren't making it much worse. I don't sit in direct sun and bake all day. If you do for some reason, then switch to Vans.

US issued boots from 30 years ago are astonishingly light though. Feels like my feet are cooled by the rigid leather.

Wolverine Montgomeries. Similar silhouette with minor detail differences as far as I can tell. They are great. Leather is higher quality than I expected. Supple and fairly light, but not flimsy. Easily maintainable leather. They're comfortable as fuck.

Brown doesn't work with the soles for me. The soles are aggressive, and black just fits their character. If you've already got a pair of brown boots, I'd get the black for variety.
