I actually bought a ToJ double rider as per /fa/'s recommendation. I paid around $800, like a moron. When I received the jacket in the mail I was enthused--the jacket looked great. But that initial moment of satisfaction was washed away by the inconsistent stitching along the sleeves. A closer look revealed the cheapness of the leather. I think they used a second-rate calfskin, on top of that, they dye was patchy in a few spots.

Needless to say, I was pissed off (mostly at myself, but also at /fa/ for recommending shit products). I bit the bullet, and sold the jacket for $700 on eBay. I used that money to buy a far superior Schott 644 (I decided I wanted a jacket with simpler styling). I am happy with that purchase and I'm not gonna look back.

The jacket is durable as fuck, too. The damn thing's made of steerhide. I actually slid, while riding, in the jacket. The steerhide saved MY hide.

TOJ materials are incredible. They don't thin out the leather so you get really thick, soft, substantial cuts. That's why you really don't get the whole skinny/fashionable look out of TOJ jackets. They're more of a modern take on old jackets, with a few wild cards thrown in as well.

A lot of the pictures don't do these jackets justice. A lot of the guys that order them don't really know how to wear the jacket or take good pictures.

I've only owned one TOJ jacket that I got second hand. Having owned some Rick and Undercover and some Allsaints (lol) you really do get the most bang-for-buck with TOJ, at least in terms of hide and construction quality.

Now, aesthetics can be argued either way. But like I said, TOJ is basically modern takes on old classic designs. Once you've worn one of them it's really easy to become a fan.
