I was wearing a button up shirt yesterday and my friends kept insisting that I unbutton the top button.

They aren't really effay, what's your opinion on buttoning the top button?

Just as long as you don't look like you're suffocating. FFS, size up if you're starting to look like the marshmallow man.

>> No.6060514

I personally like it unbuttoned better. Buttoned is too uptight to be casual.

i'm not a marshmallow man lol. I'm ottermode, the shirt was tailored too.

My friends had said they had never seen shirts buttoned like that and asked if was some kind of new fad.

keep it unbuttoned unless you're a sterhip of the dirtiest variety or wearing a tie.

Haha, wasn't aimed at you just other people who seem to think its looks okay even if their faces have turned bright red from the lack of breathing room.

I button it because it looks nicer imo. as long as you aint fat do what you want.

Depends on what you're doing / where you're at.

If you're just being casual (going to class, hanging with friends, etc.) then leave it unbuttoned

If you are going to anything semi-formal or wearing a tie, button it.

It can make you look a little uptight at non formal settings.

Top button is more formal, protects your neck during cold weather. Unbutton two top buttons in the summer cause it's what the Parisians do.

Where to get shirt in OP's pic?

>> No.6061124

Do whatever you want. I like buttoning short-sleeve patterned shirts all the way because they're casual enough that it doesn't make you look too uptight. I wouldn't button the top button of a solid oxford or dress shirt unless I'm in a formal setting.

Depending on the t and how sexy your chest is. And obvi depending on where and when. Intuition and good taste, my friend.
If it was like the one you posted (pic), defo buttoned. (bitch please.)

keep the top unbuttoned or look like an uptight idiot.

for some reason it makes the person come off as a tryhard to me.
