fuck /fa/ i have a shitty fucking hairline.
widows peak and super receded at the temples, so I get like a deep M shape. My forhead is big to begin with and this only makes it look bigger. Even worse is I have shitty thin straight hair.

I've tried a bunch of different cuts/styles in the last couple years and never really found one I like.

What I'm hoping to get is a consensus on hair cuts/styles that would look good, or at least decent, with my hairline and hair type.

tl;dr: what haircut for my shitty hairline and thin hair?

He may have a small widow's peak, but his hairline is very low on his head, so it doesn't quite look the same.

I've got crazy frizzy puff-curl hair and I'm getting widow's peak by way of thinning patches rather than just receding.

Pisses me off, too. I'd rather just wake up one day with those patches of hair missing entirely than watch them thin out.

Worst part? The thinning is only happening on the right side of my head, where I HAVE to part my hair.

To OP and all people with shitty hair,

Go to a really nice high-end salon, like a Sassoon. Expect to pay like $50+ for a haircut.
Their stylists are trained for 2-3 years AFTER they finish cosmetology school before they get a chair, and they're specifically trained for different hair styles, hair types, head shapes, hairlines. They specialize too, so a cutter just cuts, and a colorist just colors.

The Sassoon philosophy is not styling, but cutting the hair to best fit the head shape and hairline naturally, accentuating what looks best.
They'll consult you first and go over your hair type, hairline, head shape, etc and talk to you about what you want and what they think will look best.

Some of you will say it's too much, or that they don't give a shit, or they like their $10 haircuts. That's fine then.
Truth is, most people won't even be able to tell.
But just once, JUST ONCE in your life, go get a great high-end haircut. You'll notice the difference.
I get compliments on my hair all the time, mostly from women, but even men once in a while too.

Check reviews/yelp first though, because some places will charge for $50+ haircuts but give you $10 ones. I highly recommend Sassoon or most up-scale city salons with great reviews.

I was stressing over it constantly and getting strain in my neck from constantly holding my head at an odd angle so the airflow wouldn't destroy it as I walked. God forbid you're outside on a windy day. And when it does get messed up, it looks terrible and highlights your poor hairline even further. My exact haircut. I face the same problem minus the widows peak. Super thin shitty hair. I keep the sides very short, scissor cut above the ear and blended back to avoid a "shelf" and hide a weird cowlick I have. I've been growing out the top and bangs of my hair for about a year now with trims every 6 weeks to keep the longest strands from looking ridiculous. Started with Murray's pomade and nopoo, now I don't use any product but continue the nopoo. Hair looks great, I occasionally may well use a light gel to keep the short smaller part-side from sticking out awkwardly but otherwise it's fantastic. Been told that women have started describing me as having "great hair" -- a description I guarantee you I have never received before now. Find a person you can consistently go to who remembers your desired end-result.

I may well be the worst person to ask, as I kind of just fell into it. About Feburary of 2012 I had pretty short conservative hair that I was sick of. I basically decided I wanted to look like I was out of Boardwalk Empire. I was recommended to go to a stylist acquaintance of a friend. I told her what she wanted and she was like, "All right this is gonna take a while to grow out enough." I kept going back every 6 weeks to get the sides down but eventually I realized I just had to abandon the style I wanted and incorporate my obnoxiously persistent part. I have a black friend who gave me some of his Murray's Pomade when I explained what I wanted. The shit was rough, I would put it in my hair before the shower, get it malleable in hot water then comb it immediately out of the shower. Looked very prohibition-era but kind of tryhard. I'd leave the shit in for 4 days at a time just cold water rinsing. Eventually I said fuck the effort of the pomade and now I have this haircut.

Essentially, regular use of shampoo strips your hair of beneficial oils that we've been suckered into assuming are "dirty" or "unhygienic". Instead of using shampoo there are many alternatives such as baking soda+vinegar (I think?) and I've heard of people using olive oil. I personally just don't wash my hair besides cold rinse in the shower. It makes my hair thicker and acts as a natural light product.

You guys need to stop being such prissy faggots about your hairline.

Pic related, case in point is Chris Hemsworth. He has a widows peak, and it's pretty prominent too

any hairstyle he does, and he does all sorts of hairstyles at short medium and long lengths work

if you look retarded with the haircut you have its because of your facial structure and shape not your hairline

Also, I've tried taking a size 3 clipper and just buzzing it all off. I realized though that my head is just way too round, so it looks awkward. Also, my out mother said that it makes my hairline looks like Eddie Munster's

So I probably won't ever shave it completely unless it starts falling out. My only solution so far has been a soft side part, with the longer side covering forward a little to cover up part of the hairline, and the shorter side just curving straight down.

They're also not worth it. Remember it's a "transplant" so it's taking hair from the back and putting it in the area with no hair, so if you're thinning in the back as well, good luck. Here's the worst part of it. It's one hair at a time, and they say you have to be 25 or older, because your hairline stops changing by that age.

Now, there is an alternative, but it costs a ridiculous amount of money to where it's only available for the wealthy for the meantime. Genetic engineering can help you get hair all over again. It will be perfected and more affordable in the near future so be patient.

What I do, believe it or not, to save my problem is do what they did in the 1970's. Push from the back to the front. It essentially makes proto-scene hair, and that style, although not /fa/ at all, is still liked by the ladies.

Here's a video about it. A comedian makes a joke about how it's what people do nowadays, but was something middle-aged men in the 70's
did to cope with balding.

his hairline is still pretty low/good/straight, he just has a widows peak in the middle. THIS IS PERFECT. Look at Colin Farrell for another example of this.

This thread is talking about people with HIGH or RECEDED hairlines and a widows peak, giving them that deep M/dracula hairline.

And most of us don't have the facial aesthetics of Chris Hemsworth.

Look at pic posted, his hairline follows the green line, someone like OPs and others who have posted would be closer to the red line.

Don't listen to this stupid piece of shit.
Just because your hairline recedes doesn't mean you're going bald, and it doesn't mean you should shave off your hair.

First, most white guys look like penises or just retarded without hair, and even with a buzz cut you'll probably look stupid/bad.

Second, a receded hairline usually just makes you look a bit older and/or mature and there are still plenty of haircuts/styles you can do with a receded or higher hairline.
