If you have a square face then you should stare at the pictures for a long time. We're vain people on /fa/ so I'm sure if it were up to us we would stay in the store and stareld get rounded glasses. If you have a round face you should get square glasses. Make them contrast. If you have blue eyes think about some midnight blue frames, glasses should bring out your best feature. If you have light hair (light brown / dirty blonde) then think about tortoise frames. Black frames is always a safe bet too for any color/style. If you're going for bigger glasses, you want them to end between your cheek bone and the end of your face. You don't want them hanging off the sides of your head and you don't want them to look too small. You also want to center your pupil in the frame. Think about the weight of the frame. If your eyes are at the top of the frame and you have big frames then too much of the visual weight may be on the bottom.
Most of all, try and a lot of different types. Take a friend for a second opinion.

Go to a store and take pictures of yourself in the mirror wearing them. Take a few pictures of your favorite kinds and then go home and s in their mirror in different angles, with different outfits, etc. I know I would. So since you can't do that and since it already feels awkward trying a bunch of stuff on, as if you are being rushed when in reality you arent, you're going to want to take some pictures and dwell on them at home for a night or so.

First take a damp cloth and wipe them down if they're very dirty. Give it a good brush. Apply with hand. Body heat will warm up the wax and help it sink into leather better. Warm boots before applying as well, giving them a bit of a rub. Let dry, then brush again.
