I have about 70% thrift store stuff by now and I've gotten rid of a lot of my shitty stuff (H&M, Zara, etc.) and got sick of shopping at those places I realized it wasn't worth it at all.
I still have a decent amount of Uniqlo stuff, three pairs of pants and three shirts.

Right now I'm wearing a Tripp NYC shirt and OAK trousers.

There's really no need to have more than that. A huge variation can exist within a wardrobe composed of like 4-5 trousers ~10 shirts and a few light jackets and coats.

That should be the core of a wardrobe anyway. Everything outside of the core should be a bit out there designwise and can't be mixed and matched.

A guy like Rick Owens wears the same thing almost every day.

>> No.6009593

>>6009538
Yeah, see, I don't really get this.

I have like 7 pairs of shoes, 6 of which I normally wear to work and I just haven't really flushed out my casual shoes, because I've been lazy on casual lately.

5 pairs of jeans
5 pairs of chinos
5 pairs of dress slacks
20 long sleeve shirts
8 various Polos
6 sweaters (4 of them are cashmere)
1 Spring coat
1 Winter Wool Peacoat
More socks, boxers, and tees than I care to count.

I could pretty much go a whole month without wearing the same thing twice, minus pants.

...then again, you would probably consider me as "dadcore," because I have a real job.

im sure that works well for you, and this is an excellent example of why wardrobe will very wildly depending on profession, location, and lifestyle.

i dont know why youre implying that i dont have a real job, im sure its just a different line of work than yours.

and no i dont call people "dadcore" there is room for lots of different peoples taste. I feel that belittling people for their clothing choices is counter intuitive, i like that people are interested in what they wear.

also i do laundry once per week, i dont like to leave clothes with sweat/dirt/etc on them for more than several days.

Hey, maybe it's just me. I don't feel like it's a good thing to wear the same thing every week. There are tons of various shirt designs and tons of various patterns that can be put on a shirt, why limit yourself?

...oh wait, because you probably spend $500 on a shirt you think looks good, then beat the shit out of it by wearing and washing it too often, and wonder why it doesn't last.

>> No.6009619

>>6009603
Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing on your taste, I'm just saying your wardrobe is weak. If you were one of my /fa/ friends, I'd probably bag on you for wearing that shirt last week.

Then again, I also know how to shop extremely frugally and make quite a bit of money. Cheers, man.

and whats with the stupid jabs about other peoples taste, and what gives you this idea anyway? he didnt even say how much his shirts cost.

>There are tons of various shirt designs and tons of various patterns that can be put on a shirt, why limit yourself?

Personal style.

> spend $500 on a shirt.. then beat the shit out of it.. and wonder why it doesn't last

Clothes look better worn imo. The urge to always have something crisp and clean and new is a machination of the business side of fashion and not the creative. You buy more clothes if you're convinced everything you own should look brand new.

>> No.6009635

>>6009619

>I'm just saying your wardrobe is weak

i guess it depends on how youre defining weak?

because on the contrary, i think it requires a fairly strong wardrobe to be creative with your outfits with fewer pieces. it makes you think more about styling, and unusual combinations of garments.

a lot of my friends into "fashion" have their own uniforms, and i think thats a great way to dress, it means you have a strong sense of personal taste.
