Don't know if you are still reading this thread dude but that literally the single stupidest excuse I have ever read for not doing something you enjoy. If some one gets into your shot simply wait for them to move and then take it again. If they give you a weird look you can even say, "sorry, I was taking a picture of x" or "could you get out of my way I am taking a picture." Or you could just say nothing and have some one give you a weird look because who fucking cares? I don't know why your inability to do a hobby that I consider utterly stupid makes me rage so hard it just does. I can't stand people expressing ineffectuality like this I guess. Just grow pair, stop being so self conscious and take some pictures. Rant over.

Stuff like pic attached was a lot stronger in my portfolio than gestures, because I didn't really know how to do gestures at all a year ago (my fault). I wasn't allowed to go out and draw and take classes, and I got better at this kind of work instead.

no, animation with a 3D-focus.
Yeah, it's charcoal. Paper isn't toothy, just small (9x12 ish).

fashion design? are you going to school/where?

youre gesture is pretty good considering you just started, but keep in mind the force of the figure because yours looks kind of static. try drawing through the figure more and using less straight lines (focus less on contour)... imagine that your drawing is ilke ants running along the figure, it's 3d, the ants don't only run along the edges
