Got a 2023 sample and it's pretty good. Tried alot of clones and none can touch the fruity king.

No honestly for me in the drydown I smell very little fragrance at all. There is something there but it is very slight. But the bright fresh greeness and pear are amazing and for top notes they do last decently long but after like an hour and a half, I frequently reapply if I can. I love this fragrance though. It is so nice and pleasant. It is perfect for a nice sunny outdoor lunch somewhere. It is also great to wear in warm or hot weather period. I'm not sure how it wiould do in cold weather it might be fine, but honestly I'd rather save it for hotter weather since at least the way I like to wear it I will be applying it like 3 times as much as I would a different fragrance.

Unrelated but I went to Sephora because it’s one of the few places where you can sample to you hearts delight and not get bothered by the sales people and desu so many of the frags there are just not even worth buying. Who is buying Carolina Herera bad boy? I like YSL but all their stuff smells more or less the same. You really start to understand the drive for niche after you realize designer is like 90% the same stuff. Also was wholly disappointed with Commodity frags. Milk was interesting but the rest just seem like marketing vs what the fragrances actually smell like. Book for example does not evoke anything remotely close to paper, libraries, ink. I think Maison Margiela and Killians are really the only new frags doing interesting stuff there.

Every/most brands put out a new fragrance quarterly so the public feels obligated to get ‘The New Thing!’ or keep up with the person who did.
It also lends itself to the raw luck element of - if a person grabs a random frag off the shelf, they’re more likely to grab your product if there’s more of it on the shelf.

And they can of course get away with this because as most people should be aware of at this point, the actual “fragrant” material in fragrances (essential oils) is dirt cheap. The water and alcohol making up the rest is even cheaper.

Some in the replica line are less than great but I think they deserve some credit for “From the Garden” and whatever that Matcha frag was. Killian prices are absurd but I think they are doing interesting stuff. Smoking Hot is unique and quality. Angels Share is obviously beat to death but fantastic. I also am interested in testing out the Homme EdP as I would like a new fresh hot weather frag. I tried the L'Homme Ideal Parfum version which was nice but somewhat simple. Someone posted the notes of the EdP version and it sounded a lot more interesting than the Parfum version.

Just bought these two 7 ml frags from Amyi, a Brazilian brand (and also their 6x2ml sample kit). Very expensive for Brazilian standards but I've been told they're great.

According to its piss meme status, I was expecting something to sear my nostrils off, but people must be retarded and conditioned by hyper-clean sweet mall fragrances. Kouros smells like bright lavender/florals mixed with musk and moss and a touch of sweet in the back Smells a bit powdery (I'm guessing from the tonka), but does not smell "dandy" because of the animalic notes, nor does it really smell dirty. Consider a brighter Salvador Dali. If Dali is in a cave, then Kouros is in the sun.

It’s better than its newer and overhyped flankers. Sweet, but not disgustingly so, and the mint-lavender-cardemom-vanilla structure is pretty timeless (and still surprisingly unique) for a leisure time fragrance.

Obviously not of super high quality, none of Gaultier’s fragrances are, but I like to keep it in rotation when I want to wear something sweet and casual. It’s far better taste than most modern sweet designer fragrances at least.
