I have one and it's cool but it's a pain to wear. it's 46mm diameter and heavy as shit. In the last few years they started making a version with normal lugs so you can at least put leather straps on them and cut the weight a bit, but even if you have a big wrist it's still just huge. It's also a bit complicated, you legitimately have to read the manual to figure out how to use it and not fuck it up.

We have $60k Seikos that isn't even guaranteed to be +/- 3-5 seconds. The website said +/- 3-5 seconds, yet when someone decided to utilize the warranty it's 'oh did we say that, we meant 25 seconds is within spec.' Cadisen and San Martin and some others have some really decent explorer looking watches in different colors for $100-200 or so, it wouldn't put you too far out of the way to have a similar looking daily beater, and even after you get the explorer it would still be useful to keep around as a beater on days when you know you're really goong to end up in the shit on whatever you're working on.

I honestly really recommend an islander manhasset on the jubilee bracelet. It feels very close to an explorer on wrist and is almost a perfect watch for the money, I really enjoy it. I think some of the models are still on memorial day sale until midnight tonight?

It looks and feels good on leather or rubber straps, though. I have some of those curved end FKM straps in different colors that fit right up against the case and those work really well.

I have one of the cadisen explorer copes and it's been great, my only complaint is I got the sunburst gold dial with gold hands and I didn't realize how close the color of the dial and hands would be, so it's a little hard to read. But the other colors wouldn't have that problem and aside from that it's kinda hard to beat for $120.
