DO THEY SPEAK LATIN AS THEIR NATIVE TONGUE? NO; THEY SPEAK SPANISH: YOU MEAN «HISPANICS».

Hispanic is more like spain and doesn't include brazillian women, who also commonly wear these kinds of pants.

HISPANICS ARE THOSE WHO HAVE SPANISH AS THEIR NATIVE TONGUE; GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION IS NOT A FACTOR.

IF YOU WANT TO INCLUDE LUSOPHONES, THE TERM IS «IBERICS».

I'd like to get to the BOTTOM of this fashion mystery. I've literally never seen white chicks or asians where these. Is it considered too weird/trashy?

Hispanic literally means Spanish speaker. The answer to your question is because they wear shit from years old American overstock and those pants were big on the early 2000s

>> No.18070897

White chicks wore them in 2003-2008, particularly in the north east United States.

Yeah but it seems like a pretty limiting definition, because Brazilians speak Portuguese for example.

True about the girls wearing them back in the early 2000s I guess. I seem to vaguely remember some women wearing them back then. Though I more vividly remember fake dirty jeans being more the style back then.

>> No.18070906

>fake dirty
You mean distressed. There was that for a bit as well as stone washed (faded). All three kinda co-mingled. Distressed was more the tail end 05-2010 ish stone washed mingles with that more as well. When the hipster/flannel era came in after that is when dark, sturdy denim made the comeback. That’s when all of these were shipped down to TJ Max’s type stores and then to South and central America

no i know what he's talking about. fake dirty was a short microtrend in the 2000s with womens jeans. they were sometimes but not always distressed. not sure if they dyed the cores of the yarns brown or dyed the brown over the indigo.

Yeah, exactly. What's weird is I keep trying to google photos of the particular jeans I have in mind, but can't find them. I was only like 10 at the time, but I vividly remember walking through a mall and seeing them for sale, and seeing tons of young women wearing them all the time. My dad had also recounted a story of walking with his boss, and when noticing a pair of girls wearing these jeans, the boss remarked, "Their pants are so dirty!" My dad explained it was the style at the time, but the boss didn't quite understand, and just reiterated, "Yeah, but why are they so dirty??"

Latinas especially from poorer countries usually wear pretty outdated clothing, especially t-shirts with cringy English phrases that only little kids would wear in Western countries. The stereotype of them all being spicy fashionistas wearing long flowing dresses or skirts isn't accurate, most of them are pretty dorky desu
