I'm probably a retard but for me it's harder to put together an all black fit that looks good than it is to actually use colors, that's why I never wear all black.

Seriously, it irks the shit out me when people say black is supposed to be easy to make look good. If the shades of black look too close together but not exact it looks off like a failed attempt to build some sort of matching set. If the pieces have texture they're often muted and lose the impact.You need contrast. I think a fit that's primarily black but has other dark colors like charcoal, olive or even regular grey is easier to put together and looks better.

show me a colour scheme that doesn't work. I can pick any random bunch of colours and there is some colour theory name that will describe it. If I pick some colours and they look like shit together you your just choose less saturated versions so it isn't so garish. Colour theory is bullshit, it's not at all helpful in choosing colours, just use your fucking eyes. Either you use colour theory to pick colours then use your eyes to see if it is any good or you just wing it and then use your eyes to see if it is any good, either way you end up using your eyes and your taste and just asking yourself if you like it or not, colour theory ads nothing, it's just a waste of time.

I can agree a lot of subjective perception is involved, and there is no one universally true system. It's still a more complex matter, because you have the colors as one factor, the combination between them as another, and how they look when anyone wears them as a third one. Some of them look better than others on certain people, and are relatively better in the eyes of the vast majority of the population. It's about balancing several different components. Here is a shit combination.
