If you have normal person measurements I would forsake MTM and buy the best RTW suit I could find.

Thought I'd share my experience shopping for a RTW suit which is actually generous enough in the legs, in the UK for <£400. It turns out that Moss sells regular suits with trousers which are by far the roomiest that I've tried for a given waist size. Unfortunately, it's only really available in a navy or charcoal twill. I've been trying most brands for the last 2-3 weeks so hopefully this helps someone. I thought that the store was full of slim fit shit but actually it's pretty decent and the suits seem to on par, if not slightly better than the Charles Tyrwhitt suits that I previously owned.

I've never understood why the navy suit is recommended so much desu. I feel like if you were to have one good suit, then a charcoal is much better. It's visually more interesting and less flat than navy, is completely neutral, and more suitable than navy in every situation you'd wear a suit. Is the navy suit obsession an American thing?

>> No.18054720

>>18054683
It's just preference. Whether or not charcoal is visually more interesting or "less flat" will depend on the texture, not the color. A high twist charcoal suit is not more interesting than a high twist navy suit. They're both equally uninteresting. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Someone buying their first suit who needs it to perform double duty with weddings and interviews should not want an interesting suit, they should want a suit that makes them look competent.

MtM isn't that expensive at SuitSupply (or wasn't last year when I had mine made) and the quality is fine. As >>18054205 said though, you needn't bother with MtM if you have normal proportions. Better to thrift an Isaia off eBay or something for a few hundred dollars and have it altered.

>> No.18054758

>>18054754
There is not much objectivity here, they are equally versatile. If you're really strapped a charcoal suit is probably easier to wear as separates because navy trousers are not as versatile as charcoal. On the flip side a charcoal jacket is not as versatile as a navy one. Like I said it comes down to preference but I'd go with navy if I was using it more for social occasions, charcoal if I was using it more for work. Couldn't tell you why. You'll probably end up buying a suit in both colors down the line anyway so it doesn't matter that much.

It goes without saying you should only separate the suit if you choose a sufficiently casual fabric.

Not sure why clothing always attracts pricks like yourself. A subjective reason would be like saying that I think a navy suit makes you look more approachable. An objective reason would be something like saying that a very dark charcoal suit doesn’t show creases as much.

No different than saying an apple is red or sweet. That's not a reason.
You would have to prove objectively first that not showing creases is objectively better than showing creases (something you can't do for obvious reasons) then prove objectively that dark charcoal ' doesn't show creases as much' compared to navy.
But you won't because you don't understand what a reason is let alone what objectivity implies. Are you Indian by any chance?

have you tried looking on ebay? There's also https://preworn.ltd/ it has some decent stuff.

Try to find a navy blue blazer you can wear to more smart settings, pair them with a pair of light grey trousers. I got a navy hugo boss blazer from preworn for like £15 and the only thing wrong with it was a food stain I got dry cleaned out.

Then a grey wool jacket you can pair casually with denim. Me personally I like plain wool without stripes or chevrons. I just got a donegal tweed blazer for £1.20 but the sleeves are inches too short. Win some you lose some.

Just put your chest size in and keep looking there are plenty of people selling jackets they've worn once or twice. I have a nice grey wool & cashmere m&s blazer I got for a tenner.

Not to be a downer but push ups won't save you from skinnyfatdom. You need to either cut weight or recomp through a good diet with weight training. I'd recommend the latter so you don't cut into skeleton mode and then have to bulk back up.

I like them but I think the Drake's jackets are way too expensive. I don't know what else is a good alternative though. My issue with denim chore jackets, especially in blue, is that they replace or almost fill the need for an actual denim jacket, not in a chore style. This is an issue to me because I would prefer to have an actual Japanese denim jacket, type 2 or whatever, and leave the chore jacket to either ecru denim, or some type of other non-denim canvas.

If you are American you should never pay the full price for Drake's. Your best bet is archive sales and third party retailers. Pic related is $750 from Drake's. I bought a new chore coat last week that is ordinarily $900 for something like $350.

Get some high rise pants. You have a belly and your low rise pants lets your belly hang over them. It gives you a muffin top and makes your legs look short and frumpy. The high rise pants will make your legs look more straight and sleek. Also, tapered pants are not for you for this reason. You want a sleek, straight profile. That tapered shit is for lean people.

Figures people would hate on the only decent fit I’ve ever seen in these threads.

Are these slim fit pants though? They look a little narrow. They’re giving you a little bit of a pencil leg look. A more classic fit or looser fit would look better. Blazer is mostly good. It could probably be a bit slimmer actually.

Overall, this is good.

Search for things like "100% wool jacket" and see what comes up. A non-fashion brand one, will be much less in demand, and you'll get a better quality jacket usually. Just make sure it is 100% wool, and there are often plenty of them for under 20 euros.

Just purchase one and take it from there. See how you find it in person.

The search term "blazer" more often than not, brings up cheap polyester fast fashion blazers.

Things such as wool coat, wool jacket, wool sports coat are often better search terms.

Most people who sell blazers and sports jackets often do not use the correct term.

>>18064651
You should be searching for your actual chest size, and real jackets, will be listed in that. S/M/L etc. differs by brand, and again, it's usually low quality fast fashion stores that sell them listed in those sizes.
