I really want to order. It's such a nice looking chronograph. Its called Caprice. It has swiss 8040.N. 13 jewels. K1 or treated mineral glass. Often times he uses sapphire but this is K1.

Wing is bonkers charging $111 for it. I would rock with Nato style or canvas strap in 44mm. Very stylish watch for the money and low key..

But I must resist I've been a little too watch spendy lately. I really want to save up for a vintage rolex oyster anyway.

I mean it doesn't pop too much. You can wear these 44mm watches on a small wrist. They look nice. This designer likes to sell a lot of huge 48mm amd 50mm watches too. I don't go for those personally. But this designer would be happy to see a huge watch in small wrist. This way the the watch stands out more.

That's what's in fashion now anyways, just take a lot at any watch model. The watch model always has a very slender wrist to make the watch appear big and impressive.

I agree seiko and grand seiko make incredible watches. Some afforable brads are incredible as well. My point is that theres always these rolex salesman in threads seething and shitting in any watch which isn't a rolex. It's obvious and to know these sniveling faggots are working in the boutiques is kinda a turn off to the brand. I like rolex btw. They have some really beautiful watches. I even considered buying one. Try not to scare your potential customers away faggots.

>> No.18048188

Seikos are just ugly. Typical mall watches. Uninspired, unremarkable and soulless.
Just get something from a micro brand like Baltic. It's as shitty as Seiko but at least it looks cool.

>> No.18048197

>>18048188
Microbrands generally offer better customer service than Seiko too.

If you have a problem with a microbrand they will make it right because they know it only takes a few bad reviews to tank their business.
Seiko will tell you that gaining 25 seconds per day is within spec and if you don’t like it you can kick rocks. If you do send your watch to get serviced it will cost more than the original cost of the watch and it will be returned in worse shape. (It doesn’t make a difference if you’re having a Seiko5 or a Grand Seiko serviced, since it gets sent to the same service center and is worked on by the same people. )

>> No.18048200

A lot of microbrands offer excellent movements and case materials nowadays. The low prices are due to competition with classic heritage brands. You're just talking out of your ass as always. (I agree on Seiko though, of course).

Absolutely beautiful and probably has big value. You don't see many Omega pocket watches.
I would say until it keeps time, do not repair it. And when you do, ask a really excellent and experienced watchmaker. It's very easy to get it damaged if it goes in the wrong hands.
And of course it's still working. Those beauties were made to last and they're basically perfection, unlike the slop they make today.

Omega will service vintage pieces. They have a special department for that. It’s not cheap, though.
They would also be able to supply you with information about the piece, like when it was produced, etc.

If you just want it running, you can find a watchmaker who knows how to work on pocket watches. They’re generally pretty simple so it’s not like you’re handing over something that no one knows how it works.

I just recently decided I would start wearing watches again. I bought this Skagen which I like because of the deep blue faceplate, but also because of the leather strap and it is not too extravagant. It was on a sale so wound up being only $40. However I also want a watch that has a metallic band, that I can use as a daily driver so to speak. Do you guys have any recommendations for brands to look at? I dont' want to spend much money. I'm willing to spend more than $40, but hopefully I can find one for $80 or under. I'd be willing to go over that amount if there is a really fantastic watch that is on a good deal. Any advice bros?

lmfao Omega fags were loling at the losses in Rolex now they're in the same boat.
Just accept it boomers nobody wants to pay a massivly inflated price just for "muh brand". Same reason you spend $800,000 on a Bently just to be "shocked" nobody wants to pay more than $300 k for it 2nd hand.

I like Vacheron.

And by that I mean I like the Maltese Cross at the 12 o'clock position.

Other brand logos aren't even close.

A fellow heirloom Omega pocket watch anon!
Here's my grandpa's watch. Working too. Don't know its age, probably way more recent. Have same questions about servicing it.

People say you can send those to Omega and they will absolutely service them but for how much? I imagine it would be quite expensive, right?

I have a machine cut the pieces and templates for assembly out and then assemble them. Here is a work in progress shot from a while ago. Gluing down the layers and cleaning the excess glue off is the most tedious and time consuming part of the process.
