If you see a woman that you personally and subjectively find beautiful, she has a double digit body count. No doubt about it.
If you're a normal person you probably have double digits too.
Normal people wear fragrances like Versace Eros and ultramale, while you wear niche fragrances nobody's heard of.

People of /fa/
The only reason you dislike designer fragrances but love niche, is because designer is available for the masses and is popular. You don't like popular.
The only reason you like reputable brands and not small business fragrances, is because brands give you a sense of prestige while small ones feel cheap to your eye.
The last thing you care about is the scent. You only care about Fame and Money. Your idea of a good fragrance is one that is expensive and is from a somewhat known brand, but it must not be popular.
You consider yourself fragrance enthusiasts despite the fact that the last thing you care about is how the fragrance smells. you're the perfect marketing audience.

Got them yesterday, here is my ranking:

1. Patchouli Intesne
New York Intense
Patchouli Sublime
Cuir Cuba
Rose Oud
Yuzu (VERY light)
Baikal Leather
8. Angelys Pear

None of them are bad, and although they really do what they mean to and what their name implies, Pear as a fragrance is very odd and Baikal Leather is too light, as is Yuzu. I like heavy frags, which is why the heaviest frags top the list for me. Glad that this haul is actually good. Last time I bought some weird avant garde frags and had to throw away (into a box) most of them because I genuinely couldn't go out wearing them. They were that odd, that strong, that bothering. If I was less of a people pleaser, they would be good, but I wear a frag to smell good, to myself mostly, but also in part to other people. I also didn't like Hexen or something myself either.

There are some weak perfumes. I just haven't smelled too many in the years I've been smelling. The other day I was walking around the pond and a couple passed me. I could smell what he was wearing 9 feet behind him, no exaggeration. I caught up with them and before I passed, asked what he was wearing. It was Terre d'Hermès. I know how a couple sprays of TdH Parfum smells because that's all I needed to spray, and it lasted a good while. His fragrance in the amount he was wearing was unrecognizable as TdH. I question whether he could even smell it on himself with the volume he wore. His nose must have been fried. His partner wasn't wearing any fragrance (I asked her too).

Same. A ”signature scent” sounds like a good idea, finding a scent that perfectly meshes with you and making it a part of your image, but in practice it just would make you noseblind as fuck in regards of that scent, highly unlikely that you could appreciate it anymore after every day use.

Also, if you live in a country with actual four seasons, it’s pretty hard to find scents that are fitting for every single season. At least I personally hate typical summer aquatics or light freshies when it’s winter and everything is literally freezing, and everyone knows what happens when you use gourmand stuff in hot summer. Maybe some vetiver frag or something like BdC (fresh, but enough ”body” to survive cold too) could work, but ehh.

>So what’s niche like today? Well, huge, for a start. The exhibition hall was twice the size of the one I last visited, and included something like 400 exhibitors. The impression as you walk around is overwhelming. Very soon, I had to decide on a strategy to winnow down the stands where I would actually stop and ask. First, ignore all the new brands that have a lineup of 12 fragrances in different colors, because they are guaranteed to be routine crap. Second, ignore all the brands that refer to a place, the “Acqua di Firenze” or something-Paris types, they are trading on something they had no part in creating. Third, skip the brands that go heavy on the gold and super-fancy packaging. They’ve spent all the cash on things that don’t smell. Fourth, ignore all the brands that are trying to be edgy and fail miserably, the “I hate x” types (there were several, hating different things).

Been testing this for a week now. I started liking the scent profil, it grew on me, but it smells very ordinary. I wouldn't necessarily say pedestrian or low-class, but on the spectrum it's certainly closer to that than high-class. I imagine a guy wearing this who has a trades job but makes good money. I just can't get over the uncanny valley between the price and the scent profile.

Another thing: So many people online say this makes for a great summer scent, but to me it's too spicy and not fresh enough to consider it for high heat. What do you guys think about that? And also Percival in general.

Mark 14:3–9
While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head. Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, "Why this waste of perfume? It could have been sold for more than a year's wages[a] and the money given to the poor." And they rebuked her harshly. "Leave her alone," said Jesus. "Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me. She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial. Truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her."

I've shared this story here before, but whatever:
A priest friend of mine once told me that a good Christian should be like a good perfume: when they arrive, their presence pleases and comforts the people in the room, even if they can't identify the scent, and when they leave, the fragrance lingers, and most people don't know where it's coming from.
