Looking for men’s vanilla fragrance recommendations. Today I’m wearing a clone of Tom Ford’s Black Orchid and it’s quite good, my favorite note being the vanilla. I’ve also tried Imaginary Authors’ Memoirs of a Trespasser and did not care for it — I’m looking for more of a “fresh hotel towel” vanilla and less of a boozy vanilla, if that makes any sense.

Got a free sample in the mail and gave it a try, and goddamn I think I'm gonna go for the full bottle.
Opens up like a citrusy mixed drink with a little extra alcohol, but still really fresh, nice floral notes too. My only complaints are that I wish it projected slightly more and lasted a little longer (still lasts decently long, like 4 hours)

>it's just another rose-oud frag. there are more than you can sample
I've sampled hundreds of fragrances, dozens of which featured some rose-oud combination. Nothing I've ever tried smells anything like Musk Aoud. Musk Aoud was specifically the kind of scent I was trying to find when I first got into frags and it took months of sampling highly rated woody orientals to stumble upon it. If they're really so abundant, just name one.

>>18034257
>Obvious bait. If it was that amazing you would have purchased it.
It's obscenely expensive. I can't justify it at €725 for a 100 ml bottle, but I was planning to buy it if I ever had the opportunity to splurge. Are most Roja scents unimpressive and way overpriced? Certainly. But I've still never smelled anything remotely as good as Musk Aoud. If it was available at half the price, I would never wear anything else.

>Designer BORNTOSTANDOUT® has 23 perfumes in our fragrance base. BORNTOSTANDOUT®®® is a new fragrance brand. The earliest edition was created in 2022 and the newest is from 2024.®®®®®®®
We don't talk about masstige slop that was created at any point after like 2015 to drive home some of the insane margins that come with smelly water. Created from the finest new synthetic materials that all come with a nice ® next to their names, these are manifestations of everything wrong with the fragrance world. Let me guess, more than 200 bucks for a 100 mL of them? And yet they all get mogged by whatever designer fragrance Chanel or Dior put out next?

My only counter to this has been shaming perfumers by name. They have their names associated with fragrances, and I understand that they need to make money, but a perfumer should be an artist and an artist should have some self-respect as to what creations are actually art.
>tobacco, leathery, boozy frag
How original. Made by Florian Gallo, who works for Firmenich™ and probably uses a lot of Cetalox® (ambroxan but rebranded). As much as I like designers, with every new perfumer that works for a big corp like Firmenich™, IFF™, Givaudan™ or Symrise™ and puts out nothing but slop, my interest in independent and proper niche perfumery increases.

Mr. Gallo, if you ever read this, just stop right at this point. It's just a job for you, no need to have your name associated with any of this. Become a ghost, only mention your name if you have created art.

Hey Anons, if anyone would know this it's yall in the Fragrence general.

I recently bought a fragrence from an indie perfumer called Deconstructing Eden. I purchased the fragrence Love You to Death because I'm a huge Type O Negative fan and thats my favorite song from them. That said, the reviews I've seen of DE are all highly positive, but I can't seem to find any recent reviews (within the last 3 years). Has anyone had experience with their fragrences recently, and if so, how was it?

They have a ton of frags, but I’ve never heard of them. Unfortunately you’re prob not gonna get too much of an answer on here.
I’ve mentioned this like once or twice in passing before, but basically in the frag general there’s designer, masstige, mainstream niche (stuff that is smaller than designer but still gets a fair amount of publicity if you’re in the hobby), and then “other” niche stuff where it just isn’t part of the normal conversation, so it gets overlooked and just not discussed at all.

I’m still very much a noob in the frag world, so maybe I’ve just been missing them, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen them mentioned once.

So they fall into the same category as things like… Jorum Studio, sous le manteau, and Antonio Alessandria.

Any woman you personally subjectively find beautiful ANY, definitely has a double digit body count. It's simply literally impossible for a beautiful girl not to already have had sex, not dozens of times, but with dozens of men. This is something that happens and you need to get accustomed to it. And you'll never be one of the guys, because of many different things.

Does anyome own Givenchy Gentleman Intense EDT?

I’ve been looking for another scent and I’m sort of interested in the notes of this frag but reviews online have varying opinions on what it actually smells like so I really don’t know what to believe.

If anyone cares I finally managed to find a good replacement for Fille en Aiguilles (picrel) since it was moved to their expensive line. It's a bit less fruity, a bit more spicy but you won't find anything closer to the original. It's still almost the same price per ml but at least you can get just 30ml instead of full 100ml.

I mean, I’m not looking for a full-day monster, I inow that fresh scents have their limits, but it just annoys me how hard it is to find an acceptable compromise.

If so, I've got a sample of it.
The iris is there but it's toned down by the cypress accord, making it fresher and less creamy and makeup-like as the one in DHI.
Anyway, either go to your local store and try it or buy a sample online so you can draw your own conclusions about this frag.

Someone here told me about masstige, which is prestige for the masses. It is a balance between quality and price. Some people don't want to pay much but want something similar to an expensive, so they choose copies.
At first I thought of making fun of him by saying "you're the one who's buying masstige because you think an expensive fragrance will substitute your lack of expensive car and big dick", but he's right. I only care about popular copies, not fragrances that smell good.

CDNIM comes to mind, but it has such a distinct scent profile that once you smell it, you just KNOW that it's CDNIM.

I sometimes mistake bdc for something else in most people because it somehow combines with the person's personality or by how they wear it.

It took months but I finally found an actually decent "clean laundry" frag.

For some reason, the only suggestion I could ever find when googling was Prada Lhomme, but I sampled that and the iris note it has is extremely overpowering and cloying.

Pic related is incredible, especially for the price.
