Got a free sample in the mail and gave it a try, and goddamn I think I'm gonna go for the full bottle.
Opens up like a citrusy mixed drink with a little extra alcohol, but still really fresh, nice floral notes too. My only complaints are that I wish it projected slightly more and lasted a little longer (still lasts decently long, like 4 hours)

I've sampled hundreds of fragrances, dozens of which featured some rose-oud combination. Nothing I've ever tried smells anything like Musk Aoud. Musk Aoud was specifically the kind of scent I was trying to find when I first got into frags and it took months of sampling highly rated woody orientals to stumble upon it. If they're really so abundant, just name one.

It's obscenely expensive. I can't justify it at €725 for a 100 ml bottle, but I was planning to buy it if I ever had the opportunity to splurge. Are most Roja scents unimpressive and way overpriced? Created from the finest new synthetic materials that all come with a nice ® next to their names, these are manifestations of everything wrong with the fragrance world. Let me guess, more than 200 bucks for a 100 mL of them? And yet they all get mogged by whatever designer fragrance Chanel or Dior put out next?

My only counter to this has been shaming perfumers by name. They have their names associated with fragrances, and I understand that they need to make money, but a perfumer should be an artist and an artist should have some self-respect as to what creations are actually art.

I recently bought a fragrence from an indie perfumer called Deconstructing Eden. I purchased the fragrence Love You to Death because I'm a huge Type O Negative fan and thats my favorite song from them. That said, the reviews I've seen of DE are all highly positive, but I can't seem to find any recent reviews (within the last 3 years). Has anyone had experience with their fragrences recently, and if so, how was it?

If anyone cares I finally managed to find a good replacement for Fille en Aiguilles (picrel) since it was moved to their expensive line. It's a bit less fruity, a bit more spicy but you won't find anything closer to the original. It's still almost the same price per ml but at least you can get just 30ml instead of full 100ml.

The iris is there but it's toned down by the cypress accord, making it fresher and less creamy and makeup-like as the one in DHI.
