Strap loops were replaced poorly at some stage and indeed the 6 o'clock one is broken, and the unbreakable crystal is yellowed and crazed. Still it makes an interesting "beater". I had the strap made for me, it's quite nice.

Vintage '60s Omega, Seamaster is the logical choice but a pie-pan Constellation will really impress watch people. They made a bunch of these in different variations so look around and see if there's one you prefer in particular.

See that's the thing with watches from the 60s and 70s. They were so perfectly crafted and so beautiful that the following generations of watchmakers decided to make completely different things to avoid any comparison. This is why we have retarded monstrosities like pic related nowadays.

You still can find some cute vintage Vacheron, Piaget, JLC or Chopard that have the same vibes as these Cartier, but they're still expensive (around 4/6k USD). If you can't afford to spend 5k on a watch, just forget about this "hobby".

- quite inoffensive, maybe even boring though

- mineral glass, but shouldn't matter much

Casio Oceanus T200S
- steel case, sapphire glass, 41,5mm
- supposedly god tier build quality
- can sync time via radio and bluetooth
- not sure about the navy watch face, but I'll probably fall in love when I see it
- has to be ordered from Japan, expensive customs fees and wonky warranty possible

Which one do you feel would be the "best" watch? For any reason at all, like a well known design, features, movement quality etc. Also, I'm very much open to alternatives.

San Martin sells a watch which is a blatant ripoff of a rolex submariner. The only thing needed to be changed on the dial would be the logo and it would be a 1 to 1 copy. It's not difficult to imagine the same chinese factory where this is made juat swapping the logo to make rolex fakes.
