How do I deal with x stain?
>mud: allow it to dry then brush off
>salt: water and cloth as soon as possible
>saturated wet: allow the boot to dry for a full day, stuff with newspaper
>scuffs and scratches: buff vigorously with horsehair brush

>Should I buy turdsdays/soloshits/doc shitans?
No they are filled with synthetic materials aimed at instant comfort but will not hold up to actual use.
>b-b-but muh ecelebs on youtube said they're good
no. you will waste your time and money and still have uncomfortable footwear at the end of the day. spend the extra $100 and get something real.

I don't like the way they look personally for my style but they look fine in general IMO, what I really don't like is the mechanics of wearing such a high-heeled boot though. I look for the shortest heel possible and for sneakers I always buy ones with no heel. I even have minimalist tactical boots for when I want to wear a military style boot. I actually got into minimalist footwear in the army. I was going to fail airborne school and fuck up my entire career from the jump until a random corpsman from the Navy got the cadre to let me try wearing minimalist shoes from a New Balance outlet off base. It turned out my whole problem was heel striking which caused me unbearable pain in my feet and shins, and I went from a total scrub to top 3 in the entire class.

Anyone own or familiar with Truman boots, specifically their boots with the 79 last? Trying to upgrade from my current pair of Red Wing work chukkas (210 last) and I have that in a size 8. Most of the comparisons I can find between Truman and Red Wing sizing are with the Iron Rangers and apparently the Iron Rangers are pretty similar in sizing to Truman's 79 last. I can't find any comparison to the Red Wing 210 last though, but apparently Iron Rangers run slightly bigger so I would be a 7.5 in them, and by extension in the Trumans as well. What do you guys think? Or is this too risky of a purchase? I'm also looking at getting Fracap, but they allow you to enter the exact length of your foot when ordering, and is much cheaper than the Trumans. Should I get those instead for now?

It still looks bad and abrasive to the leather. In previous post. So it seems I need to get them cleaner? This is how they look after work every day. But now in pic related is post brushing with water with a synthetic stiffer brush. But now it seems when I do this my bick4 gets removed. So what would be a good routine to keep these boots healthy? I know it's bad to over oil. But if I brush with water and they come out dry like this is it okay to be oiling them every week? Should I water brush and oil weekly? No.
Leather toe puff is the original, traditional way.
Veg tan leather toe puff (and heel counter) lasted wet, once dried over night will be rock solid.

Celastic has varieties of “stiffness” that the manufacturers offer to the shoes factory.
Dress shoes companies like Edward Green or Enzo Bonafe for example use a very sturdy celastic toe puff.
Viberg in the distant past used a soft celastic purposefully because they want the toe to collapse slightly.

Parkhurst is good, but they recently changed their heel shape with their latest release before the limited edition horse butt release.

youre wrong
the flattening is the result of switching to spain and a leather counter
idk if its the leather counter but both them and grant stone display a really shitty looking flat back now but it curves in significantly after 1-2 wears
i wouldn't doubt them for a second but the 602 is notorious for pinky rub hence the 602m
the real issue is the shortened counter cover since spain that fucks the proportions on some models. avoid the cover/backstay models and stick to the old allen pattern.avoid the mystery meat leathers(they might be good but how can we know?)

I have lost about 20kg with another maybe 8-10kg to go and all my trousers obviously don't fit but I also don't want to spend a lot of money since I'm still losing weight.

I went to Marks & Spencer and was shocked that all they had was polyester crap.
I picked up a pair of "Japanese" (made in Bangladesh) selvedge jeans and a pair of slim fit cords, both 98% cotton 2% elastane.
But I couldn't find any trousers for the office that weren't complete trash.
So I ordered online from Uniqlo - never tried that before. They have no shops here. But 40€ for chinos that are 97% cotton seemed way better than plastic or recycled trash which is what M&S offers at that price.

I also looked at Cavour first, they have the final (final) sale now. But even on sale I'd be spending 170€ for a pair of trousers, plus extra for hemming them. And also all of their trousers have side adjusters now? What happened to belt loops?

Anyway I feel this topic is adjacent (literally) to the boot discussion as you can't have good looking boots without good looking trousers.

probably gonna get a pair like this, however I'd prefer something with a grippier sole. thoughts and prayers will be taken into consideration however I'll ultimately decide at boot barn based on feel and what matches the comfiest looking jeans. being texan is great, such a simple look yet so versatile.

Freudenberg was widely known as the best boxcalf, afaik germany made a lot of the chrome tanning agents illegal and production moved to poland some time in the 2000s. Meccariello uses vintage freudenberg from the 90s or late 80s, it says somwhere on the site. Weinheimer emerged from what is Freudenberg today (a giant diverse company worth billilons), and afaik is completely independent of them. I really enjoy weinheimer leather, but i doubt its better than the vintage stuff due to all the tanning agents becoming illegal.
