Honestly loving it so far, the clove and spices are very toasted smelling, forward and pleasant without overpowering and the wood smells sweet and rich. Very VERY mild incense smokiness. There’s a little jasmine in there but it’s swallowed up by cinnamon. Kind of smells like REALLY classed up version of how those hippy stores smell.

>> No.18008925

>>18008919
Just the two, though I have burmite honey and a couple others somewhere that I also really liked. Once my sample’s up I’m almost definitely buying Tirtha. Nimitr’s not new but a re-release of a 2017 scent with the same formula, it’s kinda nice but not a standout to me.

I only buy 10€ dupes from dupe houses.
They make tons of fragrances (over 100) inspired by popular ones. They smell great and last long, probably because they are very oily.
Take my advice and do the same. Don't waste your precious money on invaluable overpriced marketing scams. Buy something more value for money.

Wald is a very good forest, dry woody but also a spicy scent. The nutmeg is prominent, but it's pine focused. Best pine fragrance i recently smelled is Pine forest from Duftanker, but they discontinued it too.
Get your hands on Bindebole or Greymist from Pineward if Murkwood is too dark for you.
Or go with Yatagan, surprisingly good and cheap alternative in that genre.

Thanks, anon. Got a couple of Pinewards, but shipping stuff from the US is way too expensive nowadays so I have to be picky with my samples. Murkwood is one I’ll definitely pick up next month, and probably Bindebole from the recommendation. Yatagan’s on my list to test, too, but I already have a few pine forest heavy scents. I really liked the sharp/sweet bud and tree sap element from Soul of the Forest, which is largely what I’m looking to replicate.

And I’m super glad to hear about the strong nutmeg element, I really do love nutmeg.

Is it profitable? Yes.
You have two paths.
1. The influencer grift, make some typical blue, office, amber fragrance and start a slop brand. Requires you to have a yt, discord, tiktok and ig following. Offers good profit margins and a great rugpull potential.
2. Basement brews and other niche shit, people are going to expect interesting compositions and some quality, sooner or later you will have to make your own tinctures and oils to keep it fresh. Requires networking on forums, yt, Facebook groups. Smaller margins, with a small chance of actually kick starting a real niche house or getting a job opportunity.

Just got my decants of New York Intense and Dior Homme Original!
Pictured next to bottles I want to compare them to.
First impressions are that NYI's opening is very different to Lalique Pour Homme. It's much more mossy and has a prominent bergamot note, as opposed to the sweeter mandarin orange of the Lalique. Makes me think of Chanel Pour Monsieur mixed with Habit Rouge. Now they've converged a bit, but I'm starting to get the cloves from NYI and it's quite stunning along with the light civet. This is really complex and evolving stuff, will need time to explore properly.

As for DHO, much fresher and lighter than DHP. Has that iris chocolate thing but in a fresher setting without the oriental smoky heaviness. I like that it's not as sweet as DHI too.

More on NYI vs Lalique PH: yeah, they're not identical but definitely the same genre. NYI evolves more and seems more complex, but I'm not sure if I like it as much as the Lalique yet. Lalique is more woody, less mossy and has different top notes, less of that old school candied bergamot, more modern citrus but just a bit of it. A bit less spicy, more sharp and herbal than NYI, which has more of that plush Pour Monsieur thing going on. Certainly smells great, but quite familiar. Shades of Eau Sauvage Parfum too, though I like NYI more, it's more balanced.

Can someone give me a tl;dr on fragrances and pheromones? I went down a little rabbit hole this morning and I found it surprising how little research there seemed to be in it. Seems like a lucrative subject if someone was able to actually exploit human attraction and the olfactory sense.

In what universe is Guerlain Vetiver 'thick and warm'? It's a classic citrus/vetiver blend, not a winter coat. If you can't distinguish between the nuanced vetiver profiles of Guerlain and others like Givenchy or Grey Vetiver, which are indeed 'cool, airy with just a tinge of citrus,' you might need to refine your nose. But to claim Guerlain Vetiver is a world apart in warmth from Grey Vetiver? That's retarded. Givenchy and Grey Vetiver lean towards the 'leafy' side you crave, whereas Guerlain's version is more 'rooty.' Let's not mix up 'horrible advice' with a basic understanding of scent profiles.

I gotta say, I can't relate to this at all. I work in an office in finance and even in that professional environment where people wear suits to work still, I rarely smell the fragrances of other people. I love Spicebomb Extreme, but for some reason it just doesn’t last for shit on my skin, 30 minutes or less. Tried multiple batches, got the input of multiple people saying they can’t smell it on me after 5+ sprays, and even by pure chance had someone say it lasted great on their skin and gave me their batch number which matched mine. Japanese population has very small percentage of those who have body odor. So, most of us don't need deodorant.

I think some of young people wear fragrances out of curiosity and desire to draw opposite sex's attentions. But they'll eventually learn fragrances are not necessary.

Wearing fragrances at workplace is supposed to be lacking the common sense. Only occupations that workers are allowed to wear fragrances are, like brothels, night clubs, cosmetics department, and jewerly shops.

If you go to Japan you’ll be able to smell people if you have the confidence to go up and huff. Probably not on a geezer who lives in the countryside or a shutin, but people in a city/big town or in an office will definitely be wearing a light clean fragrance or hair perfume with low sillage, it would only be disallowed if employees regularly came in wearing heavy scents and annoyed everybody. Gay smells like iris. It smells like the makeup section of macys in the 90s/2000s. If you’re familiar with that smell Dior homo original will smell just like it. Dior homo intense smells like the makeup section plus vanilla used to make play dough

Iris is one of those smells that if you smell it on a guy, you know he will at minimum suck your dick and cherish the cum.

Dude, I got Lalique Pour Homme a month ago and just got around to really using it. It's so nice. I don't really like the opening at first but the dry down is so classy and masculine. What a great value considering how wonderful the event is and the bottle being so beautiful with the lions head.
