Frank's Boots Edition

What do I need to care for my boots?
>Old cotton t shirt (one for cleaning, another for applying conditioners)
>Horsehair brush ($10-15)
>Wooden shoe trees ($10-15)
>Light conditioner like Lexol/Bck4/renovateur
>Heavy conditioner (if you live in terrible snow/rain areas) Sno seal/Obernauf LP
>Don't forget that boots need time to dry properly, rotate them an

How do I deal with x stain?
>mud: allow it to dry then brush off
>salt: water and cloth as soon as possible
>saturated wet: allow the boot to dry for a full day, stuff with newspaper
>scuffs and scratches: buff vigorously with horsehair brush

>Should I buy turdsdays/soloshits/doc shitans?
No they are filled with synthetic materials aimed at instant comfort but will not hold up to actual use.
>b-b-but muh ecelebs on youtube said they're good
no. you will waste your time and money and still have uncomfortable footwear at the end of the day. spend the extra $100 and get something real.

I had some Aston Grey boots that are getting pretty worn out. Looking for some new boots, here's what I liked:
>Leather (learned my lesson with faux leather)
>Shape (I like pointy)
>Zipper (yeah i know)
>Dark color
>Mix of dress/combat boot

What I didn't like:
>Bottom was flat (slippery)
>Didn't boost my height much (I'm 5'11-6'0 without shoes)

Any recommendations for new boots?

You can guess how much the boots have been used by the creasing on the upper and the sole. Pay attention to the logo on the heel, if it's barely legible they've been used a lot. Also the stitching on the sole.

Genesco/Ro-Search combat boots.
Jungle boots, either vintage NOS or new companies like McRae.
Bates and Corcoran make a number of decent combat/jump boots.
All available within that range.

They got on the hype train from youtubers/social media/places like /fa/. Their actual work boots, the smoke jumpers, etc, shouldn't be over 500. Same with any of these PNW boots. The price is driven up by righty zoomers/millenials buying these things up to try and stand out from their fellow office drones in an attempt to flex their supposed manliness. So the price has gone up comparatively to match the demand.

Yeah, I looked it up again and you're right. The fact that they're so extremely opaque about this and you find no mention of this on product pages discredits them as a manufacturer in my eyes. What's the cheapest I can go without having to deal with fucking chinks? TLB? That's a 50% markup though. For this price point, I expect to them last for at least a decade. The most expensive shoes I've ever bought where about 150 EUR (picrel). I've worn through 2-3 winters and they're insanely comfortable, though obviously poorly made. The leather(?) insole teared after a month and the vamp became wrinkly almost instantly. Is the 450 price for TLB/500 for carmina really justified in terms of longevity?

Greetings! Europoor here. Always wanted heritage style boots but didn't heve the money. Recently got a pair of Levi's DAROOW MOCC boots on a sale. I know they're kind of larp but I'm too poor for proper brands.
