Yeah, they should. Despite Iron Heart having tight weaves, their denim is surprisingly stretchy (with the exception of their 25 oz). The majority of their denim is sanforized and you should expect little to no shrinkage assuming that you are doing cold wash, hang dry, and not putting it in the dryer. I have 4 pairs of their jeans and despite there being a tiny amount of shrinkage with each wash, the jeans always stretch back out once I wear them around for the first day. You can always just do some body weight squats in them once theyre done hang drying if you want to speed up the stretching

Based on posted measurements, the 888 and 1955 are the only cuts that'd work for me. I tried the 888 and it was a letdown. On paper they should have worked but the leg was restrictive and tight while the seat and waist were too loose. And the back pocket placement was egregiously bad. Fortunately I managed to re-sell them and recoup most of what I payed. The 1955 look promising, but they've been out of stock for a minute.
And yeah, the way the OD ages is what's drawing me to an IH type 3 over their competitors

I know what you mean. Fortunately my thighs are perfectly sized to fit into their 888, but they’re definitely more slim than you would expect for a straight leg jean. If you can manage to fit into a mid rise jean, I would actually suggest the Samurai s510xx. Based on my experience The thighs have a tiny more room than IH, my pair is actually the best fitting jeans I own. If you need a high rise, maybe the sugar cane 1947 jeans would be best. sometimes a brand's cuts just work for you or don't. fit is everything with denim especially pants. the best investment you can possibly make in raw denim is find an excuse to travel to japan or one of the north america retailers like selfedge/blueowl/etc and try shit on. if you're ever vaguely in proximity of one of those stores its worth the detour to instantly know what brands do and don't work for you, they're all the type of stores that won't bat an eye at someone wanting to try shit on for 4 hours then buy 0-1 pairs. they want you to take your time and get a perfect fit they're all nerds. theres some denim brands that for me will always be something i wank to pics of online or keep in my rolodex of recommendations because i know they don't look great on me and some brands i'll always have in rotation simply because their cuts fit me like a glove.

You're retarded. People aren't buying high end denim or workwear because they want to look cheap. They buy it because they have an appreciation for the higher attention to detail with regards to build quality, QC, and denim texture and aging characteristics. People ultimately prefer something that is made objectively better and ages better. It just so happens to cost more because there is more hand labor and nuanced skill that goes into making stuff like this compared to a mass produced pair of wranglers or levis. For years I've purchased Iron heart products from the Global Rakuten website. They have now banned Japanese Retailers from selling online or overseas. Before, you were able to pay the prices that were PRINTED on the actual tags. Now the only way to buy their products outside of Japanese Retail is to pay the completely jacked prices set by the Iron heart UK people. I understand Engineered Garments and other high end brands restricting selling online and sales, but Iron Heart still allows sales online. Am I missing something or is this just another middleman getting his payday? Don't get me wrong, Iron Heart UK has great customer service, but is it worth paying almost double the price for it?
This is from one of the retailers emails a few weeks ago.

Yes. Unfortunately it's already over. The boomers and great generation sold us out for social security paychecks in 1965 when the jews passed the white replacement act and actively sought to sew disunity for the sake of a cushy retirement built on slave labor for themselves. Then when we went off the gold standard shit really went fucking south with 40 years of nearly 0% interest rates leading to $243,000 being the average cost of a 1500sqft starter home in the US while the median income is $40,000. In 1933 when FDR stole every americans gold you could have gad $200 in $2.50 liberty gold coins. This would be worth $24,000 today. The cpi number for inflation from 1933 to now is that $200 is equal to about $5000. What a crock of shit. The real inflation since then according to gold is 12,000% and their bullshit number is 2,500%. Not even to mention the $14,000,000,000,000 they printed over a literal cold and handed out as corporate welfare. I hate the antichrist.

How much do the 21oz OD stretch with wear and are they pliable? Like if the thigh is <0.5" less then ideal, but the next size up would be 1.5" too big in the waist, can I pry at it to loosen it up a bit or are they the kind of super tight weave that doesn't give at all?

>> No.17990930

>>17990905
They are surprisingly stretchy from my experience wearing in a pair of 21 oz OD 888, and a regular indigo pair of 21 oz 888. That being said, if you have large thighs, iron heart’s straight leg thigh dimensions aren’t really that big and they unfortunately don’t have a wide/relaxed straight fit. If you have large thighs, I wouldn’t suggest getting a pair of jeans that are going to be stretching the thighs, especially if the waist dimension is already going to be way too big on you. I love IH, but I really don’t understand why they can’t just make some cuts with thighs that are like 0.5” larger than what they’re currently doing

Semihollow bodies are a great balanced sound. Want a warm, airy, woody jazz tone? Switch to the neck pickup. Want searing, saturated leads? Switch to the bridge pickup and lay down some overdrive. The humbuckers really give a great saturated overdrive tone. Overall, an es-335 is one of the most versatile guitars you can play

Anon you don't believe in tonewood in an electric guitar do you? The sound all comes from the pickups, scale length, and bridge. That’s all good, but in reality I’m playing jazz fusion, blues, mathrock, prog, and emo. Tone wood does not have (if any) much effect on a guitar’s sound. An es-335 ticks all the boxes I’m looking for. Archtops sound great, but they are one trick ponies and are good only for jazz and maybe some country. You aren’t going to get good fretboard radius and controllable saturated overdrive tones with an arch top. My next purchase will be either a custom shop telecaster, or a Castedosa with jazzmaster pickups

He usually plays on an archtop or classical. That's why I said it's a fine style choice just not for me. My first IH type III was a traditional one without the handwarmer pockets. I highly prefer the modified jackets with the pockets. You not only have pockets, but the body is just an extra inch in length which in my opinion is better since it covers most of the bottom of the flannel or hoodie if you decide to wear layering underneath. A traditional type III is just too short for my taste, I hate it when the bottom of my flannels end up hanging too low below the jacket’s waist.

Back on topic fuckers.

21oz OD 888s just arrived. I've tried 888s before (14oz OD and 21oz non-fade black) and been underwhelmed. The cut wasn't my favorite and the fabric felt unnecessary restrictive right out of the box in both cases. But everyone online said to try the 21oz OD or 21oz indigo to get what all the hype was about. "feel like sweatpants" and all that shit. Being a Wrangler Chad I understand the difference a good weave makes so when I saw the 888s restocked I grabbed a pair.

And I don't hate them. They were skin tight in the thigh when I put them on but have already loosened as I'm typing this out and have some nice natural give. I still hate the back pockets, but Wrangler has ruined me there so it's to be expected

I’m not arguing that vans or converse are objectively good shoes, but to me they feel good to wear sometimes and despite what your own personal taste may be, the majority of people in the world agree that a pair of vans old skoolz pair very well with jeans

The 21 oz 888 overdyed jeans were my first pair of IH I bought 2 years ago. The denim is very sexy, you get that beautiful indigo-gray color when it fades in. I know what you mean about the tightness in the thigh though. IH’s straight fit is certainly slightly slim in the thigh, but if you’re coming from wranglers then that shouldn’t be too much of a difference. Their 21 oz is personally my all time favorite denim I’ve ever worn. It has that beautiful clean weave texture, and it softens up very nicely while being heavy at the same time

I was looking at the 634 as well, but 888 won out for having more room in the hips and seat along with a higher rise.

>> No.17998696

>>17998688
I had a pair of the 634. The thighs with the 888 are slightly tight for me too (not skin tight, about an inch or so of give), but the silhouette of the 634 just isn’t as good. Since the thighs between both jeans are around the same size, the 634 looks a little more feminine if your thighs are big, whereas the 888 silhouette looks a little more athletic. I would also love to get a pair of 1955, but for some reason they are not releasing them for a long time. I really don’t understand why IH doesn’t just make a fucking wide/relaxed straight leg jean instead of just capping it out at the “classic straight” 1960s Levi’s inspired cut

>> No.17998806

I know Iron Heart UHFs size REALLY small, are their jeans the same? I'm a size 33-34 in Levis 511s, which are pretty much the only jeans I've worn for the last 5-8 years

>> No.17998812

>>17998806
In my experience wearing the IH straight fits, their jeans usually run about 1 size small compared to Levi’s. In Levi’s and Wranglers I’m a 33, but I need to go up to a 34 in IH. I would suggest measuring the waist of your best fitting jeans and comparing it to the size charts on the IH website. Your IH jeans will stretch about an inch with wear, but I certainly wouldn’t order jeans that are more than 0.5 inches too small in the waist. If you have more specific questions about fit, you should definitely call one of the Self Edge stores to ask about what size they would recommend for a pair of Iron Heart 777 if you’re coming from the Levi’s 511. They’ll give you a rundown on whether the Iron Hearts you’re interested in will differ in any other dimension compared to the 511s.

>>17998858
I mean, it’s not like their straight cuts are slim fit. The thigh dimension for a size 34 on their 888 is like 13.3”, but they could definitely add another 0.3” to their thighs. It’s not really a dealbreaker for me though. The 888 is still such a great silhouette and imo they are the best looking straight cuts to pair with some engineers boots

If you're very skinny then 634 or 888 might be a regular or loose fit on your body. Where the slimness becomes a problem is when you lift and have bigger thighs with a smaller waist. 13" thighs aren't that big on a waist that measures 33". And you also have to take into account hamstring thickness which tends to make the mid and low thigh too tight on tapered cuts.

front lunges, karate front/back stance & side lunges are also kino for getting tighter fitting upper blocks to break in.
you probably already know this but its good evergreen advice to post anyways: take it gradually and don't squat/lunge all the way to the floor for the first few weeks. even if the jeans will let you do it. you want the yarns to gradually stretch, not be overly strained and weaken = future crotch blowout. if you start out with a fit like this and spend about a month wanking around the house and working out in them you'll wind up with the best fitting pair of jeans you've ever had + no crotch blowouts down the road.

>1. Raw Denim Get Shorter With Time
> Raw denim bunches behind the knees, drawing up the cuff and shortening the leg
> Raw denim also tends to shrink when they’re washed
>3. It Helps Keep Dye Off Your Shoes
> The inside of your jeans has less indigo to rub off
>4. The Ideal Inseam Changes Based on Your Footwear
> Your jeans fall differently if you’re wearing sneakers or boots
>This one’s short and sweet: if you’re wearing low-top sneakers or shoes, you probably want your cuff to end right at the bottom of your ankle.
>But when you’re wearing a good pair of boots, the way your cuff falls on your foot is going to change. You’ve got extra leather on your instep and running up your ankle that will cause your cuff to break in a different spot, folding (or “stacking”) instead of hanging.
its because the length of raw denim changes throughout its life. you have to cuff, stack, or live with them becoming high waters.
its pretty normal to cuff your jeans to fit a pair of boots then uncuff them to wear them with sneakers. what else are you going to do, blouse your boots into the jeans and larp as a soldier?
small cuff = no cuff after wash + all your sneakers don't turn blue

lolno and clueless.
beyond the obvious
>you have to be over 18 to post here
>caring this much about tik tok
baggy jeans that are too long hasn't been in style for 20 years. the zoomer look is baggy but hemmed. they're not stacking their jeans and they're not dragging their hems on the ground like people were in the 2000s. why would i take fashion tips on dressing like a 14 year old from a guy who doesn't even know the look?

>your solution only makes you look reddit
>literally the worst alternative
reddit didn't even know about raw denim or have a denim board until 15+ years into the osaka 5 revival. its funny how they're now associated with a trend they were insanely late to.

>>18003545
your tik tok algorithm trends die faster than it takes to break in a pair of jeans.

in y2k the look was to have your pants so long the hem scrapes the ground and rips off in the back. the zoomer revival this time around is a bit different in both over-all composition (nobody was wearing mens cropped tops back then etc) and in how the pants fit. this time around its a much more deliberate and clean look. zoomers aren't dragging their pants 4" too long on the pavement like we did back then. zoomer women aren't throwing up all their food and wearing low rise everything either.
ive sold all my y2k era men's jeans already but here's an example of ~2002-2005 era women's jeans to show what i mean.

>all your walls of text have good practical arguments im sure but it doesn’t change the fact that cuffing jeans looks ugly as fuck
well yeah cuffing originates from practical reasons (farmers not wanting to hem their jeans & to make their jeans last longer) not reddit or fashion.
the act of doing it for fashion reasons is a nod to that. or you're just like me and work in your jeans lol.
>boomer containment zone
what do you expect you're in the iron shart thread. they make great stuff but they're the favored brand of the 30-40 year old fleece vested IT guy. personally iron heart's not my thing but i respect it, i wear straight leg higher waist 1950's and pre 1930's jeans with the wal mart crocs and a vintage adidas hoodie. you don't have to be denim dan or rodeo rick to like not shitty jeans. some people are born black, some people are born white, some people are born gay and i was born canadian.

Baggy jeans stacked to shit over your boots at best makes you look like an unstylish grandpa. The only type of hem that is acceptable is if you get them shortened with a permanent cuff like skinhead jeans.
