I don't understand this notion at all. Sure, they like wearing floral and fruity frags, but smelling bubblegum lollipop shit on a man is plain disgusting unless you're hopped up on molly and 5 bloody marys in at a club.

Entirely dependent on the woman, I think we gravitate towards the scents we grow up with. Some women love sweet, some love the cologne their dad wore, some like fresh and aquatic, some like smoky and resinous. You’re never gonna wear an ‘attracts all women’ smell.

Around 2015 I guess. I read on earlier /frag/ threads that those sugar bombs (or similar frag profiles) are what make the most profit for frag companies. Add a good marketing to that and boom! sweet frags for men are acceptable.
Maybe another anon has a more thorough explanation about that topic.

You could try custom shelves, then again "seasons" for perfumes are made up and you can wear anything year round.

>>17960881
Go to a store and smell them, buy the one you like the most. If you can't do that, no point in trying to get girls. You can't even walk into a store like a normal person.

>>17960951
Choosing frags for yourself is different from smelling frags on others. In fact, most people don't even know what they like to smell on others or only realize it's "wrong" once they smell it on someone. Studies suggest that only choosing frags for yourself is an informed choice. Everything else is entirely guesswork.

>>17961061
This is true. I'd like to extend it to the fraghead cope of "seasons". 99.999% of people or more only have a single frag and spray that for everything.

>>17961065
I wish. They couldn't pick them out, even if they know them. They would have to have had a boyfriend literally wearing whatever you're wearing to figure it out. Wore Eros EdP once to a party and two girls asked what it was, because apparently at least one wanted to gift it to their bf, and when I said "Eros EdP" she was like "oh, no, not that". So you like the frag or not, you stupid cunt? They don't know the smell, they only know what tiktok tells them. The other girl had no clue what it was and continued to like the scent.

>>17961080
They all suck and fall short somewhere. Some houses have one or two good clones, that's it.

>>17961251
No, that one actually smells great to me and I have a full bottle. Noses are very different and in fact, some chemicals are perceived completely different by different people. The frag industry hasn't progressed the science into that topic yet, only on the surface with the "Molecules" series, if that could be called science.

Is the “W2C bottles” section of the OP up to date and still what people use?

Looking to pick up a couple bottles but FragranceX looks like a joke (not doubting it’s legit, just that it’s dated and atrocious to navigate) plus the stock seems lacking, luckyscent doesn't do any discounts so I may as well buy them from the official website of the various houses, and while FragranceNet and FragranceBuy actually have -some- deals they don’t have the niche stuff I’m looking for.

>> No.17961926

>>17961919
ever since the fragrance train really left the station it has all gone to shit, and with the more recent developments it only got worse. you now have to track prices and coupons of multiple websites, buy when it's cheap and wait for a good deal to pop up. also, there's swaps/trades on fb, fragrantica, basenotes, parfumo, all depending on country and reputation of your respective account. currently, you'd have to make an entire wiki to aggregate all the knowledge about buying fragrances for cheap. i hope that the hype blows over and everything normalizes again, because making a wiki for fragrance shopping sounds properly autistic.

FragNet and FragBuy can save me like… 5-10 on a designer bottle I want, but when you factor in the shipping cost and the international fee for FragBuy, it’s near to nothing. Not to mention the shipping time, when I can walk into most any store and buy it.

>>17961934
Yeah I’m in the US so it’s not a big help. And I’m mostly good on niche samples atm, was looking for some deals on niche bottles, but it looks like that’s not super common (at least for what I want, Ganymede, Rogue, etc.).

Layton and Herod are both 8s, however I would say Herod smells very mature, I have trouble seeing myself wearing it at 23
Ingenious Ginger smells WAY too much like ginger, and the projection and sillage is very strong. The more I smell it the less I like it, and I feel like it would be nauseating for summer. 5410. I heard Sospiro Vibrato and Bvlgari Tygar smell similar, I wouldn't buy a clone of these then

Does your fragrance collecting impact your other hobbies? I don’t drink but I like other sin products such as cigars, fine pipe tobacco, and dip. I can smoke two cigars each day but do not have the funds to smoke $60-$80 of cigars daily. I can afford two the minor cost of three tins of dip or pipe tobacco a week. I find myself reducing my consumption or sticking to dip so I can smell my fragrances or not outright waste them when I wear them & ruin it with sticky, oily tobacco smoke.

I tested it just a few days ago alongside Terroni. It was a lot more earthy than I was expecting, but not in a bad way. On my skin it smelled like you took very rich earth, like top soil, and mixed it with fragrant herbs and spices. Got a touch smoky like 1.5H in, but stayed pretty linear.
Terroni was also earthy, but it was in the background of a sweet spicy scent. Like black licorice and spices. Also mostly linear.
Need to test them again, and Megamare for the first time.

Went to the mall to smell stuff & waste people’s time.

Dior
Sauvage is so boring. Really forgettable
Homme is gay and I understand now why everyone says it is bad. Homme Sport is wearable but forgettable. Would’ve been deeply upset if I blind bought a full flanker of any variety
Fahrenheit is disgusting. Smells like cleaning products
Ea Sauvage edt was excellent but there was no parfum available. Both counters I went to warned it was being discontinued?

I left after the repeated hard sell attempts before I could smell le male elixir or various Tom Fords.

The fragrance people all knew nothing about notes or concentrations which was unsurprising.

Best I smelled of the garbage they proffered was actually Coach Green.

imagine getting memed this hard. the memes weren't even about the current Dior Homme, yet you still got memed into thinking a conservative and safe woody fragrance is somehow gay because it shares a name with another, completely different fragrance
go buy Dakar already or something
