>Whoretadello
Balding Greek living in Germany. Has a tendency of buying too large watches for his small wrist. Cleans cars for a living. Has a Tudor, Homos, and some Seikos. Life currently falling apart. Responds by getting more material things and falling in love with strippers. Excellent at ban evading.

>Citizen drunk/Finncel
25% Finnish, 50% Swedish, rest is a mystery. Lives in Finland. Works as a shelver in a grocery store. Alcoholic. Only owns one watch, but posts a lot, mostly about alcohol or coins. Possibly immortal. Tragic case of gyno.

>Mortadello
Very positive and friendly, but doesn't post anything of any consequence. Lawyer. Obese. Posts improving photos of amazing watches. Lies about his age. Does not take criticism well.

Semi-regular posters

Is there something like the Alpinist but more expensive? I love the looks, but in terms of price range the Alpinist is a bit too low at 600 to 750 bucks. I don't mean that in a snobby "eugh I'm not paying commoner prices!" way, what I mean is that I'd like something similar but with higher quality finishing, better bracelet/strap, thinner case and movement and just basically the usual things that improve when comparing a cost efficient watch with a pricier one. No the current Explorer in its various sizes did not scratch the itch.
If there's really nothing I'll be fine with the Alpi too just wanted yo know possible options.

The bracelet is from Uncle straps, it's actually quite nice, but is definitely missing some fine adjustment. Luckily it works for me, but still could be better. Throw the stock leather strap away immediately if you do get one, it's pure garbage (keep the clasp though).
It is the thickest watch that I own unfortunately, my other watches are within the 9-11mm~ range. Personally I don't really mind, I'm not really expecting it to be a thin dress watch or anything, and it's not bouncing off of things throughout the day.
As with most watches, I'd always recommend trying one on if you can.

Wanted to add, for me it's all about the name. I've had multiple Seikos in my life, and have had mediocre to poor experiences with them. My only exposure was to their cheap shit Seiko 5 mechanical movements and solar quartz (which was the most unreliable piece of shit movement, it's no Eco-Drive). Nothing about Seiko is "grand", and nothing about the name Grand Seiko inspires me to want to spend thousands on their product. I'm sure the watches are fine, but spending that much on anything Seiko will always seem absurd to me.

I'm sure most people's experience with Seiko is the same as mine, bottom of the barrel shit, so wearing one proudly seems like a joke to me.

What exactly cause the immense seethe against Grand Seiko? Rolex I get, ADs are bullshit and it's the normalfags choice of watch I guess. But GS? Maybe annoying fans, I could see how annoying fans could drive some people to dislike the brand. But to be that emotional about a watch brand because fans of it annoy you kinda puts you on the same level as those fanatic freaks who can't stop praising GS while shitting on other brands, or those fools who have a visceral reaction of hate upon hearing the name Rolex.
Just really fucking silly. They're watches.

What is your strategy for buying a used gold watch that is priced between $5-10k? Do you research the cheapest price online and then offer that to the seller? Do you make an offer 20% lower than the cheapest price online (since that watch hasn't sold yet, it's probably overpriced)?

As a comparison, for about $35k you can get a gold Rolex Daydate with a gold bracelet - one of the best bracelets on the market - and yes it has a lower beat rate but you also get day and date complications. So you get more features, more precious metal, you save thousands of dollars, and if you wanted to sell it in a few years you'd probably get what you paid for it back. I was looking at the "official" one, but the same actually applies to both sites. Not that the website should matter, but when your company can't put in the effort to crop the images that are supposed to showcase your product properly it leads me to question how much care was put into the product itself.

I know everything originates from China, but ever since sites like AliExpress became available I've become painfully aware that the Western companies who offshore their production there do impose some type of standards on the quality of the manufacturing. Standards which are not met when buying directly from the Chinks.

you can fake them for 1/15th of the price. You are not paying for craftsmanship, time, knowhow, finishing or quality. 90% of the price is the brand. It’ll be Richfags that win in the end, in this pathetic takeoff. I’m one of these Avatarfags with a lot of puff, I got dough, I got nerve. I piss off the poor because of my terrible wealth, my great big pair of balls (by god I’ll prove it to you), I wank, I post, I cum, I stain the thread with pure gold. The way I finish poorfags off, the way I make them seethe and cope, I’m going to walk around like a fucking queen, every time.

They want to kill me, even my imitators, through their envy, and evil poorfag ways, they want me to die by a thousand cockroach bites, from the venom of a multitude of awful, rogue asps. But the spirit of Wilsdorf will protect me; I’ve survived up till now.

Let’s not ramble on too much, just say what needs to be said and make sure everyone hears it. Richfagism first and foremost! Richfagism before anything else! Richfagism x 10! Richfagism x 1000! Supreme Richfagism! Only one class can post in /wt/! The Richfags!…perfectly adapted and made for here. The rest of them are just poorfags, seethers and cunts.

There are three groups of Richfags! The largest is the Rolexfags, the Langefags and the Patekfags: they’re all Richfags. That’s all, that’s it. That’s enough; it’s easy to hold on to them.

Poorfags have nothing to do in this thread. They should fuck off. They’re parasites who can’t assimilate, they’re ruinous and disastrous, in every regard, economically, morally, socially, and they’re like diseased flesh. They’re here to make us suffer. They’ve brought us nothing but suffering. It was the poorfags who ruined /g/ with their seething. They’re subjecting /fa/ to the same treatment. They’re going to make it impossible to post in our own thread. They only want to rob and enslave us, they always want more, everything, they’re gangrenous maniacs, infecting us with the most deadly diseases. That’s all they have to contribute. They’re a thousand times more dreadful than any BitterAnon in the world.
