How do I deal with x stain?
>mud: allow it to dry then brush off
>salt: water and cloth as soon as possible
>saturated wet: allow the boot to dry for a full day, stuff with newspaper
>scuffs and scratches: buff vigorously with horsehair brush

>Should I buy turdsdays/soloshits/doc shitans?
No they are filled with synthetic materials aimed at instant comfort but will not hold up to actual use.
>b-b-but muh ecelebs on youtube said they're good
no. you will waste your time and money and still have uncomfortable footwear at the end of the day. spend the extra $100 and get something real.

Skoak has restocked RTW Enzo Bonafe Col8 Shell jumper boots.
The new stock is much more expensive than it used to be (it was like 1250€ before) but nowadays even Carmina is asking over 1000€ for shell boots.

It doesn't get any better than Bonafe for shell.

But I feel they've raised prices a little too much in the last year. Maybe it's just Skoak though.

I still got a pair of docs that are +20 years old, from before they went to shit qualitywise. I was in the metal/punk scene at the time. Wore them to bars, shows and stuff for years, then forgot them on a closet at my parents' basement for about a decade. Got them back a couple of years ago and they're still holding up nicely, save for the insoles having a couple of pressure points, but again, I'm way heavier than back then.
Checked new docs at the store a couple of weeks ago and they suck ass, though, mine are way better.
I like the aesthetics and I like the yellow stitching, but wouldn't get newer docs, desu.

I work in an office (suit/business casual) and I'm looking for boots that I can wear to work and can handle some rain and snow. I'm not going to be knee deep in water, but I want to be able to wear them and be sure they won't get ruined. Was looking at these Loake Roehamptons but I'm worried they'll get damaged. I like the look, but I don't want to spend 300+ on them if they're not wearable in shitty weather when I can just buy something with shit quality for a third of the price. Thoughts?

Agrueyrolles and marbot as far as I know stopped making boots with brown lining inside at some point and the black eyelets are also iffy. That outsole is also sus looking, despite the boots themselves not looking like overall trash. There's also no reason for them to not mention the maker or show the stamp. I believe these aren't real-real ones, but could still be of good quality. The real and authentic ones might not be easy to come by either way. You could try searching for "rangers bm65 argueyrolles" on google, or "rangers bm65 marbot", or get them from where I got mine. They should be authentic.

I don't wear them that often so they still have a ways to go in terms of breaking in. It took me about two weeks before I could secure the straps without struggling like hell. The vamp felt nice from the get go, but the point at which the ankle flexes took months of irregular wearing to stop being a pain.
I don't know why more military bootas have this V thing between the foot and the shaft, it would greatly improve comfort.

What are the absolute best winter boots for durability, warmth, breathable, looks and good for walking in snow, slush and dirt?

nigs hardwear pro/waterworks + wool socks

it needs to be the hardwear pro or waterworks specifically because these have rubber rather than leather midsoles and are 365 stitchdown rather than gyw which makes them effectively waterproof

also the sierra outsole is surprisingly good for walking on snow/ice without tracking slush around

nicks can also do optional insulation but desu it's not necessary if you wear good thick socks

It can go down to -30 here

So let's say I'm just getting leather boots for winter, which one are the best? (not insulated) here we have tons of snow, slush and dirt. I also walk a lot so chelseas are not good for me.

I own the hardwear pro. it was -15C today with plenty of snow and slush on the ground since we got 30cm 2 days ago.

I just got the boots a few weeks ago but I expect winter temps to go down to -30C eventually, just hasn't happened yet this season, but I expect the boots will be fine.

Question: I have orthopedic insoles but they don't fit in any "good boots" (because no good boot has a removable insole). Can I go to a cobbler with my boot and insole, and have him adjust the leather insole that's glued to the boot to the specifications of the orthopedic? some work can be done. Steve at bedos has mentioned in videos making modifications based on doctor's recommendations. you'll probably need someone a step above the average cobbler on the corner
if it's just building a slope at the heel it would likely mean building up a leather patch to glue into the heel

exactly, it's written by someone trying to sell you something. Just remember how White's says, "your feet on a dead hang is exactly like it should be when you're walking and standing, trust us, btw by our boots". Good grief, what a stretch.
