Why do jeansfags think they don't have to wash their jeans? Don't they realize they smell like ass wearing the same jeans for weeks, months or even years?

>> No.17917487

you need to clean your ass better if you're pants smell like shit after only a few wears, and you're supposed to wash them when they smell anyways

It depends on where you live. Not everyone lives in hot tropical climate monkeyland where you do have to shower daily, and you would never think about wearing the same pair of jeans again before washing them.

I am a frugal college student so I only have 2 pairs of jeans, 3-4 shirts, a week's worth of underwear, and 2 pairs of socks. I do the laundry once every 4 days when I've run out of clean shirts, I use my pants 2 days in a row. Sometimes I forget so I have to wear a dirty shirt.

It is what it is.

well for one thing, before the proliferation of the mechanical washing machine people didn't wash their clothes all that often anyway.
for another thing, jeans are workwear. you don't launder your workwear every day, you have work to do.

but the denimheads going months or years aren't typical. that's only done in persuit of sick fades. the idea being that you want to keep as much of the original indigo dye in the fabric as possible and only knock it out of high-wear areas.
regular washing will fade the denim much more evenly.
sick fades is a dead trend though but even these guys acknowlege their two year unwashe raws might be smelly so they keep them in the freezer to mitigate it.

fit matters more than washing routine. you can accomplish denimbro fades with frequent washes simply by re-applying starch to your jeans after washing.
>>17917679
>>17917712
there's a very good reason not to wash even if you don't care about fades:
notice how models in model photos always look goofy as fuck in skinny jeans?
ever notice how your jeans fit tight and have no shape to them after a wash?
that's because denim stretches to accommodate your body, particularly your knees. it takes like 10-30 wears after washing for your jeans to go from shapeless to being shaped like your body. some of my slimmer cut jeans noticably restrict my motion after a wash or when brand new, then after some wears they feel like second skin and i can do everything except the splits in them without any restriction. even with very slim fits made out of heavy denim with no elastine.
this doesn't apply to relaxed fitting jeans though like in my pic, washing those all the time doesn't impact the fit much.

>ever notice how your jeans fit tight and have no shape to them after a wash?
picrel
these jeans have maybe 30 wears on them
look how much they've shaped to my body, you can tell just looking at them laying on my couch how much better they look on me and fit to my body than some formless lifeless jeans that look like they're straight off the goodwill or drying rack.
when i first got these they were so tight i could barely bend my knees level to 90 degrees, now they feel like a second skin and don't restrict any movement whatsoever.

its just as much of a fantasy as someone calling out 2023 tier rep sneakers on the street. it doesn't happen in reality only in the comments section of fashion forums. jeans are dyed with one of the most antimicrobial natural substances that exists. lmbo materials science anons.

those fades aren't anything special because theyre baggy fitting jeans. i just posted em to flex that i was into raw denim a decade before it was trendy.

>kinda bumcore
well yeah thats the point they have at least 2000 wears on them a lot of that on a construction jobsite, a lot of the fades have worn away.
they're just a much higher end and better made version of the cheap shitty levi's baggy fits zoomers wear right now. the only thing particularly special about that pair is they were one of the first raw denim jeans sold in america, the denim itself is aite.
>show what they look like in you as well and I think that will be enough to help me understand
sure i bought them 17 years ago 15lbs heavier so they don't fit the greatest.

if you don't get ultra high end denim that's fine you're not the market for it. pants you have to wear for a year to look cool is antithetical to trend cycles.

pre-faded jeans that actually look good are $600-3000+
with the exception of stone washing, which looks great and is cheap but those are uniformly distressed its a bit different.

>> No.17921471

and also the fades will always look better if they are actually aligned with the dimensions of your body
most pre distressed denim looks goofy unless you are the exact same height and thigh to calf ratio they were faded to.

oh and for pre-faded boot cut jeans, RRL or orslow.
my budget option is: only buy stone wash
you get what you pay for with hand distressing, someone actually taking their time with it to make the fades look realistic or nice vs sandblasted at a sweat shop by a greasy mexican.

"coal black" is what wrangler/rustler calls their black warp black weft raws though.
heres another budget indigo option:
https://www.wrangler.com/shop/wrangler-cowboy-cut-bootcut-jean-rigid---slim-fit-jean-0935.html
note these start off lighter and more blue colored than 99% of raws i like it but dont expect dark dark indigo

OK so it's the coal black and the rigid. Thank you, appreciate you for responding. yes sir wearing the cowboy fit non slim as I type to you I really like them. Wearing the heck out of them will purchase another 2 pairs when on sale again. What chinos or other pants around the price range do you recomend.
