How do I deal with x stain?
>mud: allow it to dry then brush off
>salt: water and cloth as soon as possible
>saturated wet: allow the boot to dry for a full day, stuff with newspaper
>scuffs and scratches: buff vigorously with horsehair brush

>Should I buy turdsdays/soloshits/doc shitans?
No they are filled with synthetic materials aimed at instant comfort but will not hold up to actual use.
>b-b-but muh ecelebs on youtube said they're good
no. you will waste your time and money and still have uncomfortable footwear at the end of the day. spend the extra $100 and get something real.

Anon I have Carmina shoes in that exact last.
Soller is good for wide feet like mine, but the heel is also a bit big. It's a bit pointy and tapers down at the front.

I also have had boots with that exact leather.
Brown chromexcel is a great leather but most of the time it creases horribly. I have seen bad examples from Carmina especially because they are a dressier brand so they use thinner leather compared to heavy American boots.

I know Soller is marketed as a boot last but it's too pointy for a casual boot imo. I have no experience with Oscar but will order Oscar EEE (custom) next time I want boots.

I have C&J and EG shoes. C&J Handgrade is comparable to EG, but EG has better leather, more elegant lasts, better finishing, and nicer details, etc. EG is so much better than Carmina I wouldn't consider Carmina at all. So overall, EG is worth it if you like the kind of sleek shoes they make and can drop £1k on a pair of shoes.

You don't get 3 times the boot, what you do get are the iconic patterns, near perfect finishing and QC, better materials and much better fitting lasts (your mileage may vary).

You can ask EG for wider sizes on any stock model for no upcharge, you will just have to wait. But if C&J fits you, i don't think you will need a bigger width on most lasts.

I like the shape but not the leather. I’m looking for something smoother/shinier. I also like the islay from them but they have too much brogue and grain. The polished leather on the toe caps of the black islays is kinda what I’m looking for. Picrel are the boots I’m trying to replace. Their soles don’t look as retarded in person. They’re Hammerstein branded, lined with a thin layer of wool inside, and have lightweight soles. They’re polished turds though. Shit started breaking immediately.

Just got my winter with boots in the mail from tractor supply. They fit great, but I noticed pic related. They're $250ish boots and I planned to use them for a while and possibly resole then, but if there's a tiny cut above the welt out of the box, I'm afraid that it will quickly spread. What do? Exchange? Return and get something else? Just love with it?

I just got my winter boots in the mail from tractor supply. They got a slight cut above the welt. What do? They weren't cheap and should be resoleable. They are very comfortable and fit well, but I'm afraid that the crack will spread and ruin them.

That exact pair fits. The black ones need breaking in.
But I'll take your advice anyway. I can just have my wife bring them to the store tomorrow, no need to mail them.
I'm considering getting a different style for the brown now. My last pair were Carolina 28s. They don't make them in black anymore, and they have plastic welts so it's not worth resoling them (even though I love them.)

yes a welt join is completely normal, the welt has to start and end somewhere. If that bothers you buy something with a 270 welt instead of a 360, there will be no welt join on 270s

Hello, it's me. French rangers and ropers lover. Soloshitters and doctrannies hater. I have arrived to dab on the entirety of /btg/ with my superior knowledge. These my dear friend are called creepers. I can't tell what brand or style they are from your dogshit image, but I will just assume they're one of these (if I got the brand right)

These are regarded as the best creepers you can get I believe. I personally have two pairs of TUK creepers, because they're much cheaper. Might get a george cox pair, but I'd rather spend money on ropers or engineers.
