She's a stripper. She doesn't pay to work. But they [strippers] also get peanuts. There's only a 20€ difference for example if they dance with our without bra. They also only keep around 20% of the bottle you buy them. For example if you buy get them a champagne that's 300€, they keep maybe 50€ of that. And the fake dollars, they keep half.
But usually, the hookers I know, do pay around 70€-130€ per night. Ladies.de is also very expensive to run.

She's either lying to you or you misunderstand, friend. Every girl pays to work. She gives a percentage of her tips, everything, back to the club. The flat nightly fee merely encourages them to work. Otherwise they'd show up and hang out in the back room all night.

Yes if she stays at one of the rooms that they provide her, she pays rent. But like I said, the vast majority of the money the girls make there, it goes straight back to the club itself. Around 70% to 80%

And one more thing, real talk, of course I always assume that these girls are lying. To anyone who's reading this, they are trained to tell you what you want and Need to hear. Don't let the sirens influence ans fool you.
I am about to ghost her after tonight. If they get too close, it's getting dangerous. She's at the stage where she says that I am her boyfriend and tells me she wants to quit for my sake etc.
Do NOT believe them.
Anyway, she just arrived. I am off for now.
Keep safe.

>> No.17903563

>>17903552
>a flat fee and a percentage, isn't that a little extortiony?

No, not really. Here's how it works: say a girl will say she wants to dance three nights per week. From there, we negotiate which nights (Tuesday is not as good as Friday), how many performances per night, main stage or side stage, etc. We know how much a girl can bring in on those days and what our business is like, so it will cost her (example numbers) 100 to dance on Tuesday, but 500 to dance on Friday.

Now, she has to work. If she's boring during her performances, she won't bring in any tips so she has to be lively. When she's not dancing, she should be flirting with the customers, having drinks with them, being available for lap dances, stuff like that. If she works harder, she makes more money, which means the club makes more money. the flat fee encourages her to actually work. The girls make a good living, we're not leaving them broke. Otherwise no one would dance for us.

The club has tons of bills to pay too. Rent, ultilities, employees (not the dancers, but security, janitorial, bartenders, DJ, etc) plus payments to the police and other interests to make sure we are able to conduct business without interference.

It's more hands-off. I provide a girl with the equipment and technical know-how to set up a cam show. I help her out getting her room looking good, furniture/decorations. Then I provide the hosting services so users can set up shows with them.

The users do everything through my site and I pay the girls a percentage of what the users get charged.

Like I said in the last thread, it's much, much easier. There's no haggling over money. The girls don't fight. (Girls fight each other all the time.) I don't have to manage hours. I have much less overhead. The girls like it better too because they have more control. She doesn't have to worry about some random guy sticking his finger up her ass. Generally, everyone's happier.

Got some ebay sub 20usd auctions, my intention is to use these to get some practice on watch repair, cleaning

ordered all of the tools except for a timographer, waiting until I can get a used one to try and save money

cleaning progress is going to be hand spinning the parts in a mesh basket dropped in a jar of hexane then the same in ipa soak in 3 more jars

got some oils too, but not sure how to approach the high cost of mainspring winder - probably just going to ignore it at first and get the rest of the watch cleaned and leave the barrel as is, unless I can find new old stock mainspring but fat chance of that

Like all Citizen, it really comes down to if you like their design aesthetic or not. One of the reasons I bought the 0100 was because of how it looked: it's efficient and perfect in every design line. Unfortunately, there are Citizens that I find truly ugly as well, so regardless of what is inside, I'd never buy. So I'd hold the same standard to the one you posted and ask you what I'd ask myself: do you like the design? will the movement satisfy your daily needs? If so, then why not go for it?

>>17903557
Please have a safe night Anon.

In other random news:

1) I was at my local Rolex AD and they had tonnes of stock in the windows (i.e. running watches, not display models): Kermits, Seadwellers, no-date Subs, Explorers, GMTs...all the usual SS models that everyone wants. All except the SS Daytonas, of course. Perhaps they had them early in prep for Christmas. Anyway, it seems my prediction for the availability is coming true. Give it until February/March until the prices on the secondary market start coming down. So, there is hope for Rolex-chads who are waiting.

2) From the previous thread: The Citizen 0100 movement is now being fitted into other models, but the original came in three versions: gold with white/ivory dial and leather strap (100 pieces), and the other two models in full supertitanium: black dial (like mine) which I think was 800 pieces, and the mother-of-pearl dial (which I think was 200 pieces). None of them are available 'new' from Citizen, but there are a few black-dials and gold models floating around on chrono24. The mother of pearl ones sold out long ago, and are gorgeous; I think someone on WUS has one. Given that Citizen is putting the 0100 into other models now with different coloured dials, they are available.

He doesn't shill for dealers or his own merch, and he reviews watches from his personal collection instead of getting them loaned to him from dealers. So he seems to give pretty good insight about the pros and cons of each piece. Also he's got big 8 inch wrists so if you have bigger wrists you can see how watches look on him and it's a better idea of how it might look on you. And he is into cigars and whiskey so I like him for that too.

Yeah I don’t actually have a problem with Oisin, I’ve watched his videos before. I remember one where he shat on Brit Pearce lmao. Nekkid is good but he is cringe sometimes which makes me not want to watch him all the time. Wrist watch revival is usually inoffensive so I like him. I like Richard Perrett quite a bit despite him shilling his own watch brand. Watch repair channel is pretty goated

I'll check out Richard Perrett, I haven't watched any of his stuff. Wristwatch Revival is goof but his videos seem kind of repetitive. He does the same kind of servicing steps and makes the same comments on each step. i like Nekkid because he's always doing something different. I agree he can be a bit cringe sometimes. Watch Repair Channel is pretty comfy.

Just buy new mainsprings for the watches you work on first. Don't fuck up putting them in and you should be fine without a winder. If you want to regulate without a timegrapher, you can get close just using a phone app and your phone's microphone.
Just take your time and especially on your first one take pictures from different angles as you disassemble. What are you going to do for cleaning?

Yes, "Ticking all the boxes" collections always end up being stupid.

The chronograph, for example: you need a chronograph? You find yourself needing to time stuff constantly?
Travel watch/GMT watch. How often do you travel to other time zones? Often enough to where you lose track of what time zone you're in?

Buy the watches you like. If you like dress watches, buy those. Don't feel compelled to buy one of each category that the watch companies made up in order to sell more watches.
>If you don't have a travel watch, you'll be fucked if you ever travel with a normal watch.

>>17904255
Looks nice Anon; I really like the 'bubble-bezel' look.

>>17904333
No, not autistic. I actually think your choices are great for the first 6-watch collection. Just be aware that you may still hear the siren song of watches and want to create a new collection, maybe higher in price (except for the beater, of course). So I'd say decide on each to the model#, try as many on as you can before purchase, and wait a year or two for the choices to ferment. After a year you'll know what you really want and what you don't, and then you won't waste money on watches that you'll grow tired of. Finally, they're mostly mechanical, you'll have to service them too over time, so take that into account as the 'price of entry'.

Good Day, Rolex-chad! I was in my Rolex AD the other day, and they had tonnes of stock...I was gobsmacked, to be honest. I hadn't seen it like that since pre-covid. They even had those OPs with the dials that have the rectangular weave pattern on them...don't know what they're called, but for at time, they were 'in demand'. They had three green-bezel subs ready to buy, and shit like that. Very odd, but should satisfy those who want them. How is your Rolly running? Hope you avoid the crowds safely Anon!

>>17904411
In that case, it sounds like you are on the way. Then why are you concerned that your collection may have an 'autistic' origin? Why not just buy and wear what you love, and to hell with the rest? Sometimes, labeling a watch makes it seem like there is a justification to have the watch in the first place...but I think the honest reality is that we just like to buy things. You don't 'need' a chrono, or a beater, or anything else; you just need more than one watch. Embrace that, but make sure you choose carefully and avoid the trap of buying something now instead of saving and getting something closer to your ideal later. That's all.

Pretty good Omega-san, its a huge upgrade from my SKX. I didn't know that a mechanical watch can be this accurate. I hand lunch with some friends at a Japan steakhouse which was opened for Thanksgiving and dinner with family so I pretty much avoided the crowd. Right now doing a bit of shopping for Christmas and a camera for myself.

How was your Thanksgiving?

>Rolex getting tons of stock
This is good news, but I've decided to pace myself to one watch a year when I truly started on this hobby. Next year I think I'm gonna go Omega though. Mainly this one since I gonna do a green collection of 3 watches.

Mechanical watches can be supremely accurate, as long as the movement itself is well designed. A great movement always has the potential to compete with a quartz, but the issue is the timeframe and the watchmaker who manages it. My old 321 is the most accurate mechanical wristwatch I own; more accurate than any of the COSC ones, but it's only because my watchmaker pulls it into spec for my wearing habits. Far too often, customers are reliant on a watch that has been regulated and adjusted by the factory; understandably so, because opening the watch may void a warranty. This however 'locks' the customer in to whatever range the watch is set with...and that's horrible. Anyway, glad your Rolex is 'superlative'; it should be.

Re: the Speedy used: DEFINITELY do this. There is no current model except the Ed White or Snoopy that you should buy from an AD. The 57 in Green looks great in person and wears well, so just prepare and buy the seller.

We had our thanksgiving last month, and it was 'usual', so that's always good. Hope yours was great; never forget to take a moment to look around the table and be thankful for all who are present. One day a chair may be empty.

>>17904453
I say it because it needs to be said; so many people don't follow that advice and instead are swayed by advertisement, social pressure, etc. If people en masse just bought what they adored, then admittedly there might be far fewer watches on the grey market being offered for sale, fewer Anons here who bought something and have regrets, etc.

Do you own what you love, Anon? If so, share it with us! What are you wearing today, Fren?

Hi everyone,
I haven't posted in /wt/ in close to a year. I'm glad to see nothing's changed and you're all still here. (I used to post my Tank LC and white Explorer II on occasion.)

Anyway, during the Rolex bubble, I started selling my collection and never stopped. I've sold off/given away my watch collection. I am watch free, apart from a fitness tracker/running watch, which really isn't a watch.

I told myself that when I was done, I'd take about 30-40k and buy one last piece, a dress watch for when I want to look fancy, but now I'm having doubt if I even want it at all.*
The coof kind of cleared things up. I spent so much time obsessing over and wasting money on trivial little trinkets. Not being able to go on our family vacation made me realize that experiences are more important than toys. (My wife is certainly happy, she got a new car out of it. ;P )

*Maybe a gold Reverso Duoface.

Anyway, to the Americans who just celebrated Thanksgiving and are looking forward to your holiday season, don't get too wrapped up in your toys, because someday you'll turn around and realize your toys will never love you back and the opportunities you were given in life to make a family will be dust.

It depends on the price of your local watchmaker; I would NOT take it to an Omega AD. Prices for servicing should be between 200-400 USD since it's a simple movement (i.e. non chronograph or date complication). After you sort out the price, the next thing you should consider is how often you will wear it, and if having it tell the correct time will matter to you when you have it on.

If you only want to wear it for 'occasions', then what I'd suggest now is winding it up and wearing it for a day to see how it holds time. If it holds within 15 seconds or so, then don't bother to service it. If it is outside of that range, service it.

The problem with having a watch that is 'ready to go' but isn't being worn is that the lubricants evaporate over time, so it'll eventually need care even if you don't wear it. So you have to ask yourself whether it's worth servicing it now or not bothering. If you wear it twice a year and don't care what kind of time it keeps, then don't service it.

Does that make sense? Sorry it's so round-about. Maybe I should put it this way:

Service it if:
1) You plan to wear it regularly (i.e. more than twice a week).
2) If it runs way out of spec (i.e. more than +/- 15 seconds per day).

Don't service it if:
1) You plan to wear it once or twice a year.
2) You don't care about how well it holds time when you wear it.

Does that make sense?

Great advice, Anon; always hold family close, and time marches on faster than we think.

>>17904486
For sure; most of the co-axials straight from the factory I've encountered hold excellent time (i.e. +/- 1 or 2 seconds a day) with regular wear. If you have an older movement it can be a problem though. My 1861 that was serviced came back running around +7 per day, which is awful. I'm not going to take it to my watchmaker until the warranty period is over though. My 2254.50 is always ahead around +4, and my 2599.80 is much closer (around +2). Still, all of them were serviced by Omega, and I'm not opening any of them until the warranty period is over. I already had to send in the 2599.80 a month after service due to a bezel problem and a chronograph seizure, so I'm not rolling the dice just yet on the others. lol I won't let Omega touch my vintage ones though, and that's why those ones run well. The Zenith came back from factory essentially perfect, which is what I'd hope for and why it beat out the 0100 over the year. So, I guess I can give a +1 for Zenith servicing, if it's sent all the way to Swiss-land.

>>17904496
The gaskets may have turned to 'goo' if the watch was subjected to water over the lifespan. But that's not the primary problem. The movement should run, but run slow, and if there is automatic winding, then if the lubricants have dried up you might be getting a little metal-on-metal wear and tear which is not necessarily ideal. But wearing it for a day won't destroy it, so if you only wear it two times a year, who cares if the gaskets are gone (as long as you're not swimming with it).

It sounds like you want peace-of-mind; if you do, get it serviced from an independent post-haste, and then wear it and enjoy it. I had to make the same decisions with my predecessor's Omegas as well; I serviced both because I wanted them to run and also because of a fear (unjustified) that if I needed parts, I wouldn't be able to get them.

Why can't chinese aliexpress brands just use chinese names instead of cringe european nonsense like "pagani design". It would be much more based to have "Zhuangzhi" or whatever instead

>> No.17904780

I think it's because they want to appeal to the chinese market, a chinese buyer would rather have a european looking watch because they associate that with quality. Same reason they sell Chinese knock-off Lacoste shirts and Jordan shoes instead of brands with Chinese names.

it's a rep, sadly. bought it along with a calatrava rep. trying to decide which one i would rather grail. still undecided. pp is classic but austere, like a gray flannel suit. meanwhile, the breguet has the aristocratic 19th century feel. it is also a lot more interesting with the blue hands and roman numerals. decisions decisions...

Honestly, a nice croc strap will make it indistinguishable from the real thing at arm's length. (Obviously that fails at closer inspection, but who's looking at your wrist that closely?)
A Miyota movement is also common enough and any watchmaker can fix it if necessary. Better than some unknown Chinese movement.
