Looking for a black 100% wool car coat like this one from Nordstrom, but I fucking hate the bib insert it looks retarded. Will dump more inspo please share your faves anon

I ordered this long coat from Uniqlo, it's really nice and looks great but I work IT and I'm concerned it's a little too formal so I'm looking for shorter car coats now. Still want 100% wool and something that can dress up and down

Alternatively I think this hybrid down parka is nice, a hood would be nice when walking to the bus stop. That's a trade off from the elevated wool coat look though.

Anna & Dasha from red scare podcast said they didn’t like it when guys wear these. They both agreed that dudes should wear parkas. Can’t find the episode right now but it was sometime last winter, so you’re real late to the party now lol. Sorry guy, but the ladies have spoken.

Amazon and Nordstrom have a bunch of these weird pieces, most of them have the stupid bib liner, or it's Cole Haan. I also hate it when there's a seam through the center of the back or on the arms

I like this because it doesn't have the blazer lapels, but it isn't wool and it's a bit long. Still probably more versatile and less stuffy looking than the Chesterfield coat

I get it though, I don't want to look like an old man, I'm late 20s, which is why I'm looking at the shorter coats with less formal collars. I see women rock these all the time and I know it's harder men that aren't psycho lawyers to pull it off but I'll keep dreaming

Fashion nowadays is such that when men wear traditional pieces like overcoats and they’re not a middle aged MD at Goldman Sachs people say it’s “cringey” or a “LARP”. I don’t agree, but I guess we should just wear parkas instead. J. Crew sells a decent parka with primaloft for less than $300.

I agree with that take mostly, some stuff is timeless but if the whole fit isn't styled right or the occasion is off it really is cringe. I'm still not 100% bullied into the parka, god forbid a jcrew parka, but I'll check it out anyways

They switched sides sometime after they got rich, and now they’re ironic alt right racists. Try to keep up, flyover. Even when they were communists I thought they sounded somewhat reasonable compared to other leftists. For example, when #metoo popped off they were outspoken rape apologists pretty much from the beginning. Anyway, whatever turns their journey takes onto next I’m pretty sure they will forever be a barometer of what type of winter jacket a man should wear at the current moment.

Was stuck between a longer slightly lighter-weight wool coat and this heavy duty filson. Decided with the filson since I live in a rainforest and the extra heavy duty wool takes a long time to soak through.

It's very soft and warm, the price seems right for genuine wool/cashmere blend. Depends on where you're from though, in southern usa you won't find pieces like this in a thrift store
