I ordered this long coat from Uniqlo, it's really nice and looks great but I work IT and I'm concerned it's a little too formal so I'm looking for shorter car coats now. Still want 100% wool and something that can dress up and down

Alternatively I think this hybrid down parka is nice, a hood would be nice when walking to the bus stop. That's a trade off from the elevated wool coat look though.

Amazon and Nordstrom have a bunch of these weird pieces, most of them have the stupid bib liner, or it's Cole Haan. I also hate it when there's a seam through the center of the back or on the arms

used to have one of these, it was nice but secondhand and the down lost all its puff so if looked all deflated :( I would get another except I want something that will last more than a couple years

I like this because it doesn't have the blazer lapels, but it isn't wool and it's a bit long. Still probably more versatile and less stuffy looking than the Chesterfield coat

I'm striking out because I don't know where to look... budget is $200-$300 for a decent parka or wool coat

Nah I have tried both - gray does not suit me. Not really looking for color advice here more concerned with the style and cut. There's so much bullshit on the market with stupid cargo pockets and weird seams - if you have a cool charcoal coat in mind pls post it I would love to see

Was stuck between a longer slightly lighter-weight wool coat and this heavy duty filson. Decided with the filson since I live in a rainforest and the extra heavy duty wool takes a long time to soak through.

It's very soft and warm, the price seems right for genuine wool/cashmere blend. Depends on where you're from though, in southern usa you won't find pieces like this in a thrift store

I have this one. I really like it but it was also my first wool coat. The attached bib is strange but I like the look of it at least
